In a server (), all column data items are extracted from a master data storage unit () and sent to a client () in addition to target data corresponding to a data acquisition request that has been sent from the client (), and in the client (), the target data and data items received from the server () are displayed on a screen in a user-interface selectable mode, thereby making it possible to download from the server () to the client () the minimum target data required when attempting to perform a desired process on the client (), and doing away with the waste associated with downloading all the data. In addition, by also downloading and displaying in a selectable manner on a screen data items pertaining to data other than the target data, a user can be shown, in an operable-like manner, data items pertaining to actual data without downloading the actual data.
