A drilling device having an oil supply tank disposed at a position where the oil supply tank is less likely to collide with surrounding objects. This device includes a fixing member () fixed to a workpiece, a column () extending upward from the fixing member, a tubular slide unit () that is slidable along the column, a tool body () disposed on the tubular slide unit, and an oil supply tank () provided between the tool body and the fixing member and removably fixed to the tubular slide unit. The tool body is provided with a cutting oil supply passage having a cutting oil inlet () disposed toward the fixing member, while the oil supply tank is provided with a cutting oil outlet disposed upward. The tool body is displaced upward on the column and the oil supply tank is moved close to the tool body from the lower side of the tool body, whereby the cutting oil outlet of the oil supply tank is connected to the cutting oil inlet of the tool body.

An electric drill apparatus having a low profile is provided which comprises an annular cutter, a motor for rotating the annular cutter, a rotary shaft assembly for rotating the annular cutter attached to its leading end about a rotating, a rotation reduction mechanism disposed between the motor and rotary shaft assembly for transmitting a driving force of the motor to the annular cutter through the rotary shaft assembly, a feed mechanism responsive to an operation of a manual handle, for moving the rotary shaft assembly along with a straight line to advance or retract the annular cutter attached to the rotary shaft assembly with respect to a workpiece, and an adhesion base for securing the electric drill apparatus to the workpiece. The annular cutter has a plurality of cutting blades comprised of cemented carbide tips fixed on its lower end, thereby it is capable of rotating at a high speed. The rotary shaft assembly has a rotating shaft which rotates in a direction different from that of a rotating shaft of the motor, thereby the drill apparatus has a low profile.

A rotary cutting apparatus comprises a rotary shaft assembly having an axis and adapted to hold a cutting tool coaxial with the axis and, a feed mechanism for moving the cutting tool held by the rotary shaft assembly along the axis of the rotary shaft assembly. The rotary shaft assembly comprises a proximal rotary shaft, an intermediate, a distal rotary shaft which are successively telescopically connected, and a cylindrical housing rotatably holding the distal rotary shaft and movable along the axis together with the distal rotary shaft. The feed mechanism comprises a first rack mounted on the cylindrical housing and extending in parallel with the axis of the rotary shaft assembly, a second rack securely mounted on the body in parallel with the first rack; and, a pinion positioned between and engaged with the first and second racks.

When a start SW 3 is pressed, a one-shot multivibrator circuit 15 turns on and releases a pulse. The pulse is transmitted to a self-hold circuit 16 which in turn stays in self-hold mode and releases an H level output continuously until it is reset. This cause a transistor 17 to turn on and actuate a ram downward movement relay R1. When the ram arrives at the lower limit of its movement, a lower LS 4 is opened causing a self-hold circuit 21 to produce an H level signal in accordance with an output of a one-shot multivibrator 18. The H level signal from the self-hold circuit 21 is delayed by a delay circuit 22 and turns on a transistor 23. As the result, a ram upward movement relay R2 is actuated. Because of the function of the one-shot multivibrator circuit 15, the ram will not restart when the start SW 3 is continuously depressed. The delay circuit 22 contributes to the longer operational life of a directional valve switching mechanism. Also, a combination of another delay circuit 19 and a logical product circuit 24 is provided for preventing any fault action derived from chattering of the lower LS 4.
