Steering wheel

There is provided a steering wheel that can reduce the load applied to an elastic body included in a dynamic damper to lengthen the life of the dynamic damper, and that allows the frequency of the dynamic damper to be adjusted easily. An insulatorincludes a first flange portionprovided between a stopperand an elastic body, and a second flange portionprovided between a coil springand the elastic body. The elastic bodyincludes a first diameter-increased portionincreased in diameter to be contactable with the first flange portion, and a second diameter-increased portionincreased in diameter to be contactable with the second flange portion. A contact surface of the first flange portionwith the first diameter-increased portionhas a plurality of linear projectionsarranged in a substantially radial fashion.

An airbag unit includes an airbag, a cover part which covers the airbag, a fitting member which is fitted on a front side of the cover part, and a fastening member which fastens the fitting member on a back side of the cover part. The fastening member includes a first fastening part which is inserted from a side into a first locking part provided on the fitting member, in a state in which the first locking part penetrates the cover part to a back side of the cover part, a second fastening part which is inserted from the side into a second locking part provided on the fitting member, in a state in which the second locking part penetrates the cover part to the back side of the cover part, and a connecting part which connects a base end part of the first fastening part and a base end part of the second fastening part, and external shapes of the first fastening part and the second fastening part are mutually different.

Airbag unit, fastening structure, and fastening member

There are provided an airbag device and a steering wheel that can reduce the number of components and weight and allow a retainer to be easily positioned relative to an airbag cover. An airbag coverincludes a side wall portionstanding on an inner side, a recessformed in an end face at almost the center of the side wall portion, and retaining holesandformed in the side wall portionon both sides of the recess. A retainerincludes a first hookthat is fittable in the recessand contactable with a bottom faceof the recess, and second hooksthat are contactable with inner facesof the retaining holes. The retaineris centered in a width direction by fitting the first hookin the recess, and the side wall portionis clamped in a standing direction by the first hookand the second hooksby contacting the first hookwith the recessand contacting the second hookswith the retaining holes

Airbag device and steering wheel

A steering wheel in which a load exerted on an elastic member constituting a dynamic damper can be reduced, the life of the dynamic damper can be extended, and the assembly operation is readily performed. The steering wheel has a first horn plate (), a second horn plate (), guide pins (), stoppers (), bushes (), elastic members (), and coil springs (); the bushes () are divided into first bushes () which have first flanges (), openings (), columnar parts (); and recessed parts (), and second bushes () which have second flanges (), openings (, and casings (); and the columnar parts () are configured so as to be in contact with the second flanges ().

Provided is a steering wheel in which, even in the case where a moving part of a horn switch exists in a space formed between a pad and a main body, harness can be prevented from getting caught in a gap. The steering wheel includes a first horn plate secured to the main body, a second horn plate secured to the pad, guide pins arranged vertically on the second horn plate and inserted through openings of the first horn plate, flange-shaped stoppers formed on the guide pins, an insulators disposed so as to be slidable along the guide pins, and coil springs that urge the insulators toward the stoppers. The insulator covers an outer periphery of the stopper and has a wall surface portion, the height of which is substantially equal to an offset distance between a fixed contact and a moving contact.

An airbag includes a front portion having an upper part for receiving a head of the occupant, a middle part and a lower part. The upper part has an upwardly protruding curved edge without a linear portion, and two laterally protruding upper curved edges. The middle part has two laterally inwardly curved middle side edges extending smoothly from the laterally protruding upper curved edges. The lower part haw two laterally inwardly and downwardly curved lower side edges, and a downwardly protruding curved edge without a linear portion. The lower part has a lateral width greater than that of the upper and middle parts to thereby form laterally projecting portions for receiving occupant's arms. The downwardly extending curved edge at the lower part has a curvature greater than that of the upwardly extending curved edge at the upper part.

Airbag and airbag system

An airbag cover for maintaining a folded shape of an airbag when the airbag is folded and accommodated within a casing, is designed to bulge from an opening formed on a panel constituting a vehicle inner wall for deploying between the panel and an occupant. The airbag cover includes a flat structure for covering at least a side of the airbag facing the opening before a deployment, and a tear line located on the flat structure and facing the opening so as to allow the airbag to bulge from the opening when deployed by cleaving the flat structure. The tear line is located on a side closer to the occupant relative to a center of the airbag cover in a direction of a vehicle length.

Airbag cover and airbag apparatus

An airbag device where a case and a lid are connected by engaging a hook of the case with a hook hole in the lid and where the hook moves in the hook hole toward the vehicle interior side when the lid recedes. Energy absorption characteristics when the lid recedes are improved by a simple structure. The hook () used for connection to the lid () and provided at the case () is engaged with the hook hole () of the lid (). The hook hole () is a long hole elongated in the vertical direction, and in the middle of the long hole is provided a partition-like section () for partitioning the inside of the hook hole () into the upper half and the lower half. The hook () is engaged with that portion of the hook hole () which is lower than the partition-like section (). As the lid () recedes, the hook () moves upward in the hook hole () while cutting the partition-like section ().

Airbag apparatus

To provide a steering wheel and an airbag apparatus including a module cover, a portion thereof is operable to prevent an interior of the airbag apparatus from being viewed through a gap between the module cover and a spoke of the steering wheel. A projecting strip extending from an occupant side of a lower spoke of a steering wheel is configured to face the gap between the occupant side of the spoke and a lower rim of the module cover extending from the rear of the module cover.
