A reinforcing cord for rubber reinforcement of the present invention that is used for reinforcing a rubber product is provided with a plurality of strands. The strand includes bundled fibers and a coating layer formed so as to cover the bundled fibers. The plurality of strands are in tight contact with one another via the coating layer. The coating layer contains a material that is crosslinkable by thermal treatment. A method of manufacturing the reinforcing cord for rubber reinforcement includes the steps of (i) forming strands that include bundled fibers and a coating layer formed so as to cover the bundled fibers, and (ii) bringing the strands into tight contact with one another via the coating layer by twisting the strands together. The coating layer contains a material that is crosslinkable by thermal treatment.

Cord for reinforcing rubber, method of manufacturing the cord, and rubber product using the cord

A reinforcing cord of the present invention is a reinforcing cord for rubber reinforcement. The reinforcing cord includes a carbon fiber strand () and a plurality of glass fiber strands () arranged around the carbon fiber strand (). The present invention makes it possible to obtain a reinforcing cord having sufficient tensile strength for reinforcing rubber products as well as high dimensional stability and bending fatigue resistance.

Reinforcing cord for rubber reinforcement and rubber product including the same

A rubber reinforcing cord having high flexural fatigue resistance and high dimensional stability is provided and a rubber product such as a rubber belt employing the cord is provided. The cord includes a fibrous core and a plurality of subsidiary strands which are disposed around the fibrous core and each of which is twisted by a primary twist, in which the fibrous core and the subsidiary strands are twisted together by a final twist. The direction of the primary twist of the subsidiary strands and the direction of the final twist are the same and the fibrous core is twisted by a primary twist in a direction opposite to the direction of the primary twist of the subsidiary strands. A rubber product is reinforced with the rubber reinforcing cord.
