There is provided an electromagnetic coupler that communicates signals by using at least one of a longitudinal electrostatic field and a longitudinal induced electric field. The electromagnetic coupler has a ground conductor, a radiation conductor composed of a plurality of rectangular conductors connected in series, and a feeding point formed at one point in the connection of the plurality of rectangular conductors. The plurality of rectangular conductors are connected such that each pair of adjacent rectangular conductors form an angle other than &#x3c0; radian, and a length from the feeding point to either end of the radiation conductor is an integral multiple of &#x3bb;/4 in electrical length with respect to a wavelength &#x3bb; of a central frequency of a frequency band of interest of the electromagnetic coupler.

An electromagnetic coupler has a first conductor pattern and a second conductor pattern separated from the first conductor pattern that are formed in a first plane, a feeding pattern made of a conductor and being connected to a feeing system and a ground made of a conductor and being separated from the feeding pattern that are formed in a second plane, and linear conductors electrically connecting between the first conductor pattern and the feeding pattern, and between the second conductor pattern and the ground, respectively.

Antenna for ultra wide band telecommunications

A small antenna operating in multiple modes including three or more modes. There are provided an antenna that includes a ground conductor having a ground potential, a single feeding point whose one end is formed by a part of the ground conductor, and a plurality of transmission lines to which RF power supplied to the feeding point is input, the transmission lines each radiating electromagnetic waves of three frequencies of three modes into space. These transmission lines comprises a transmission linethat is connected to the feeding point at one end and to a branching point at the other end, a transmission line connected between branching points, and transmission lines connected to the branching points. The lengths of the respective transmission lines are set so that impedance matching is performed at the feeding point with respect to a plurality of frequencies. The antenna is formed from an integrated metal plate.

A wideband antenna has: a rectangular conductor sheet; a bow-tie-shaped slit formed in the rectangular conductor sheet, the rectangular conductor sheet having two apex portions defined by the bow-tie-shaped slit, the two apex portions being opposite to each other in the middle of the bow-tie-shaped slit; an auxiliary antenna element formed to extend along the bow-tie-shaped slit on both sides of one of the two apex portions; a power-feeding portion formed at the one of the two apex portions; and a grounding portion formed at an other of the two apex portions.

Wideband antenna

In an antenna to be used for UWB communication, a taper slot is formed in a rectangular conductive plate, a vertical slit for separating the conductive pate is formed at the top of the taper slot, a feeding point part and a grounding point part are formed at the conductive plate and on both sides of the vertical slit, and the lower slits are formed on the oblique sides of the taper slot near the feeding point part and the grounding point part.
