A vehicle sound generation device includes a sound control circuit that sets a plurality of frequencies according to a number of motor revolutions and sound pressures to be applied to the plurality of frequencies and generates a synthetic sound signal representing a synthetic sound, and a travel situation estimation circuit that estimates a first travel situation in which the driver accelerates or decelerates a vehicle at a first rate and a second travel situation in which the driver accelerates or decelerates the vehicle at a second rate greater than the first rate, and the sound control circuit changes the magnitudes of the sound pressures to be applied to the plurality of frequencies based on whether the first travel situation, the second travel situation or neither the first travel situation and the second travel situation is estimated.

Vehicle sound generation device

A vehicle sound generation device includes a sound control circuit that sets one or more frequencies according to a number of revolutions of the rotary power source, and generates a synthetic sound signal representing a synthetic sound including one or more element sounds having the one or more frequencies. The sound control circuit sets the synthetic sound so that a sound pressure of the synthetic sound includes a reference sound pressure component and a variable sound pressure component. A magnitude of the reference sound pressure component increases as the number of revolutions of the rotary power source increases, and a magnitude of the variable sound pressure component varies within a predetermined amplitude with a period of a predetermined increase amount of the number of revolutions as the number of revolutions of the rotary power source increases.

A control system for an engine is provided. The control system includes an accelerator opening acquiring module for acquiring an opening of an accelerator, a target acceleration setting module for setting a target acceleration of a vehicle based on the accelerator opening acquired by the accelerator opening acquiring module, and an engine control module for adjusting an engine torque to achieve the target acceleration set by the target acceleration setting module. Within a predetermined range of the accelerator opening, the target acceleration setting module sets the target acceleration corresponding to the accelerator opening acquired by the accelerator opening acquiring module, to cause a change of the target acceleration with respect to a change of the accelerator opening to be substantially constant regardless of an operating state of the vehicle, the predetermined range including a value of the accelerator opening at which the target acceleration becomes zero.

Control device for engine

A control system for an engine adjusts an engine torque based on an operation of an organ-type accelerator pedal for pivoting about a supporting point. The control system includes an accelerator opening acquiring module for acquiring an accelerator opening, a target acceleration setting module for setting a target acceleration of a vehicle based on the acquired acceleration opening, and an engine control module for adjusting the engine torque to achieve the set target acceleration. The target acceleration setting module sets the target acceleration corresponding to the acquired accelerator opening by using a predetermined range of the accelerator opening including a value at which the target acceleration becomes zero. The predetermined range is set such that a pedal reaction force F (N) applied from a predetermined position of the accelerator pedal when the accelerator opening is within the predetermined range is within a range of 2.5&#x2266;F&#x2266;26.

A control system for an engine is provided, which includes an accelerator opening acquiring module for acquiring an accelerator opening, a target acceleration setting module for setting a target acceleration of a vehicle based on the acquired accelerator opening, and an engine control module for adjusting an engine torque to achieve the set target acceleration. By utilizing first to third ranges defined for the accelerator opening and first to third acceleration characteristic maps, the target acceleration setting module selects one of the first to third acceleration characteristic maps according to a range under which the acquired accelerator opening falls among the first to third ranges, and the target acceleration setting module sets the target acceleration corresponding to the acquired accelerator opening based on the selected map.

A shift control system for an automatic transmission has a multiple stage transmission gear mechanism provided with a plurality of shift gear stages of different speed ratios. A shift control device is provided with a plurality of shift patterns for controlling the multiple stage transmission gear mechanism and establishing one of the shift stages, based on a vehicle operating condition, in light of one of the shift patterns. A shift pattern switch device switches from one shift pattern to the other and back to the one shift pattern from the other when a value representing the vehicle operating condition changes beyond a reference value. A frequency detecting device detects when the frequency of change of the vehicle operating condition goes beyond a predetermined value, and a reference value change device changes the reference value based on the frequency of the change of the vehicle operating condition. The shift control can take into account the driving habits of a driver.
