A multicolor recording material is disclosed, which comprises a support having provided thereon a coating layer comprising two or more kinds of microcapsules each containing at least a leuco dye capable of being colored by oxidation and a photo oxidizing agent outside said microcapsules, and a reducing agent as necessary components, with two or more leuco dyes capable of forming different colors from each other being retained in different kinds of said microcapusles respectively composed of walls of high polymers having different glass transition points.

An image-forming material and an image recording method for using the same are disclosed. The image-forming material comprises microcapsule and a reducing agent which is present outside of the microcapsules, wherein the microcapsules contain (a) a leuco dye capable of oxidatively developing a color, (b) a photo-oxidizing agent, and (c) a phenolic compound. A recording material comprising a support, a microcapsule containing a substantially colorless electron-donating color former and a solvent, and an electron-accepting developer, wherein the color former is at least one selected from p-substituted aminophenylindolylphthalide derivatives, p-substituted aminophenylindolylazaphthalide derivatives and p-substituted aminophenylindolyldiazaphthalide derivatives, the solvent is a paraffin oil, and the amount of the solvent is at least 20% by weight based on the weight of the core substance.

A pressure-sensitive microcapsule sheet comprising a support having thereon a pressure-sensitive layer comprising microcapsules and a binder comprising a copolymer latex composed of at least two monomers selected from the group consisting of an aliphatic conjugated diolefin monomer, an aromatic vinyl monomer and an ethylenically unsaturated nitrile monomer and an ethylenically unsaturated acid amide monomer. Color developer sheet

A recording material containing the combination of at least one electron-donating colorless dye containing a p-substituted aminophenylindolyl azaphthalide and at least one electron-accepting compound containing an organic acid having at least one phenolic hydroxyl group. The material provides colored images having improved stability.

A pressure-sensitive recording medium producing a colored image utilizing the reaction between a substantially colorless electron donating dye precursor and an electron accepting developer is disclosed. This recording sheet is characterized in that the electron accepting developer layer contains an aromatic carboxylic acid metal salt and the electron donating dye precursor layer contains (a) an indolylazaphthalide compound and (b) Crystal Violet lactone.

Pressure-sensitive recording medium

A desensitizer composition consisting essentially of a 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpyperidine compound as a desensitizer and additives comprising a natural or synthetic high-molecular weight compound and a pigment, a color developer sheet containing the desensitizer composition and a process for forming an image using the color developer sheet. The composition exhibits superior desensitizing effects, especially when used with fluoran color formers.
