An exhaust device includes a first exhaust pipe, a second exhaust pipe, and a third exhaust pipe. The first exhaust pipe is comprised of a pipe member. The second exhaust pipe and the third exhaust pipe are comprised of a tubular member including a merging tubular portion and a downstream tubular portion. In the merging tubular portion, exhaust gas to be discharged from an exhaust port of the second cylinder and exhaust gas to be discharged from an exhaust port of the third cylinder are merged. The merging tubular portion is comprised of combining a plurality of plate members, at least a part of which is formed by press working. A distal end of the first exhaust pipe is disposed inside the downstream tubular portion. The downstream tubular portion is offset on the side of the first cylinder with respect to a center in a cylinder array direction.

Exhaust device for engine

A motor vehicle () on which a vehicle engine () is mounted is described, the vehicle engine () including: an exhaust purification system () housing a GPF device () for purifying exhaust gas; and an EGR passage () connected to a portion of the exhaust purification system located downstream of the GPF device, and the engine is mounted in an engine compartment (R) defined in a front portion of a vehicle body. The exhaust purification system is located forward of a dash panel () constituting the engine compartment, and is positioned to extend toward a tunnel portion (T) of the dash panel. An upstream end portion () of the EGR passage is connected to a lower portion of the exhaust purification system in a vertical direction of the vehicle.

Motor vehicle on which a vehicle engine is mounted

A vehicle enginecomprises an exhaust system having an exhaust manifoldand an exhaust purification device. The exhaust manifoldis disposed at a predetermined distance from a dash panelconstituting a body of the vehicle, the exhaust purification deviceis disposed in a position overlapping a floor tunnel region, formed by a floor tunnel of the body, and is disposed below the exhaust manifoldand to one side of the center of the enginein the cylinder-array direction, as viewed from the longitudinal direction of the vehicle. An exhaust purification device introduction passageconnecting the exhaust manifoldand the exhaust purification deviceis disposed on the other side of the center of the exhaust manifoldin the cylinder-array direction, and extends below the exhaust manifoldto be connected to the exhaust purification device

Vehicle engine

An engine exhaust device includes: a first catalyst; a second catalyst; and a tubular connecting member. The connecting member includes: a first opening; a second opening; and a bend connecting. A downstream end surface of the first catalyst is connected to the first opening, and an upstream end surface of the second catalyst is connected to the second opening. The downstream end surface and the upstream end surface form a dihedral angle within a range from 60 to 120 degrees. A part of the upstream end surface of the second catalyst includes an overlap that is close and opposed to a part of a surface of the first catalyst. The bend of the connecting member includes: a first wall; a second wall; and a connector. The first wall has a curve. The curvature radius of the first wall is greater than the predetermined curvature radius.

Engine exhaust device

An engine exhaust device includes: a first catalyst; a second catalyst; and a connecting member shaped into a tube and forming a part of the exhaust path, and connecting the first catalyst to the second catalyst. A downstream end surface of the first catalyst and an upstream end surface of the second catalyst form a dihedral angle within a range from 60 degrees to 120 degrees. A part of the upstream end surface of the second catalyst is close to and faces a part of a side surface of the first catalyst. On a cross-section including a central axis of the first catalyst and being parallel to a central axis of a second catalyst, a length of the part of the side surface of the first catalyst is longer than or equal to 10% and shorter than 50% of an entire length of the first catalyst.

A downstream-side heat insulating material which is provided at a side face of a GPF which is positioned on a downstream side, in an exhaust-gas flowing direction, of plural in-line arranged catalysts has a first opening portion and a second opening portion which are provided for attaching supporting members.

Exhaust device of engine

Provided is a powertrain for a vehicle in which an exhaust purifier is utilized as a dynamic damper. The powertrain includes an engine, and a transmission linked to the engine. The engine has an exhaust purification system containing a GPF device for purifying an exhaust gas. The exhaust purification system is disposed along a rear external surface of a cylinder head. The exhaust purification system is supported via a first support on the engine. A vertical side portion of the exhaust purification system is located downstream of the first support in a flow direction of an exhaust gas, extending in a direction away from the external surface.

Powertrain for vehicle

An exhaust-gas discharge port to discharge a main flow of exhaust gas passing through an exhaust-gas purifying device is provided at a position which is offset, on one side, from a center axis of the purifying-device body, and an EGR-gas takeout port is provided at a position which is offset, on an opposite side to the exhaust-gas discharge port, from the center axis of the purifying-device body.

A downstream-side exhaust-gas takeout portion of a pressure-difference detector is provided between an exhaust-gas discharge port of a downstream-side cover and an EGR-gas takeout port so that a stable exhaust-gas pressure can be taken out (detected).

An arc-shaped recess part is provided at a collective pipe of an exhaust manifold, whereby a flow of exhaust gas from one end side of cylinders is uniformized and then introduced into an exhaust-gas purifying device.

An exhaust upstream section () of an exhaust apparatus (E) comprises a plurality of branch pipe portions (), a plurality of intermediate collector pipe portions (), a final collector pipe portion (), and an exhaust gas-purifying unit (). The exhaust gas-purifying unit () is disposed on a vehicle-rear side of an engine () to allow a gas passage thereinside to extend approximately in vehicle-widthwise direction, in top plan view. Each of the plurality of intermediate collector pipe portions () curves to allow an exhaust downstream region of the intermediate collector pipe portion () to be oriented toward one side or the other side of the vehicle-widthwise direction, in top plan view, and the final collector pipe portion () curves to allow an exhaust downstream region of the final collector pipe portion () to be oriented toward a vehicle-front side, in top plan view.
