A printing apparatus includes a printing unit, and first, second, and third conveyance paths. The printing unit performs printing at a printing position on a print medium conveyed in a conveyance direction. The first conveyance path causes the print medium to pass through the printing position of the printing unit. The second conveyance path reverses obverse and reverse surfaces of the print medium, and the third conveyance path reverses obverse and reverse surfaces of the print medium. The second conveyance path branches from the first conveyance path at a first branching point on a downstream side of the printing position in the conveyance direction and merges into the first conveyance path on an upstream side of the printing position. The third conveyance path branches from a second branching point on the second conveyance path and merges into the first conveyance path on the upstream side of the printing position.

Printing apparatus

A printing apparatus includes a supply unit, a supply path, first and second conveyance paths, a printing unit, and an inversion roller. The first conveyance path conveys, to a first direction, a print medium. The printing unit prints an image on the two surface of the print medium. The inversion roller inverts a conveyance direction of the print medium and conveys the print medium in a second direction. The second conveyance path conveys the print medium conveyed in the second direction to the first conveyance path while inverting the print medium. When performing printing on both sides of print media, the print media are convey such that a first print medium supplied from the second conveyance path and a second print medium supplied from the supply path overlap in the first conveyance path.

A recording apparatus to record an image on a sheet includes a roller pair and a switching unit. The roller pair sandwiches the sheet between the roller pair to convey the sheet. The switching unit switches between a first state in which the roller pair sandwiches the sheet and a second state in which rollers of the roller pair are separated from each other. The switching unit includes a first movable member that is moved in a first direction so that the first state is switched to the second state, and includes a second movable member that is moved in a second direction different from the first direction so that the first state is switched to the second state.

A carriage device includes a first guide member and a second guide member for supporting a carriage with a head mounted thereon at two separate positions and guiding reciprocation of the carriage, a first adjustment unit configured to adjust a height of the carriage relative to the first guide member through movement of the carriage, and a second adjustment unit configured to adjust a height of the carriage relative to the second guide member through the movement of the carriage. The carriage device can sequentially perform a first operation of changing the height of the carriage by the first adjustment unit and a second operation of changing the height of the carriage by the second adjustment unit.

A cap sheet metal (and pivot sheet metal) is configured to be able to move linearly with a cap arm (and an arm stay) via engagement between an engagement hole and a fitting shaft. Furthermore, the cap sheet metal (and the pivot sheet metal) can move pivotally with respect to the cap arm (and the arm stay) using the fitting shaft, which engages with the engagement hole, as a pivotal shaft. Thus, even if, for example, the direction of biasing toward the applying roller deviates or a positional relationship with the applying roller deviates slightly, the liquid holding member moves and pivots in the bias direction depending on the deviation. A liquid applying apparatus can prevent an applying liquid from evaporating while an applying operation is stopped and can reliably prevent the liquid from leaking even when, for example, the posture of the apparatus is tilted.
