The biochemical analysis unit has a base plate and absorptive regions. The absorptive regions are surrounded by the base plate formed of materials which shield a radioactive ray and a light. In the absorptive regions are applied and absorbed specific binding substances to be bound with substances derived from a living organism that are labeled with labeling substances for generating the radioactive ray or the light. The base plate prevents the specific binding substances from penetrating in the other absorptive regions. When an analysis of data of the radioactive ray and the light is carried out, an image of the radioactive ray and the light is generated without noises.

Biochemical analysis unit and method of producing thereof

A biochemical analysis data producing method includes the steps of selectively storing one of radiation energy and light energy in a plurality of stimulable phosphor layer regions two-dimensionally formed in a support of a stimulable phosphor sheet and spaced apart from each other, moving the stimulable phosphor sheet and a stimulating ray relative to each other in a main scanning direction and a sub-scanning direction, sequentially irradiating the plurality of stimulable phosphor layer regions so that energy of the stimulating ray projected onto the plurality of stimulable phosphor layer regions per unit area is higher than that projected on regions other than the plurality of stimulable phosphor layer regions, thereby exciting stimulable phosphor contained in the plurality of stimulable phosphor layer regions, and photoelectrically detecting stimulated emission released from the stimulable phosphor layer to produce biochemical analysis data. According to this method, it is possible to effectively prevent the stimulating ray from entering a neighboring stimulable phosphor layer region to be next stimulated as the stimulating ray is scanned and thus prevent stimulable phosphor contained in the neighboring stimulable phosphor layer region from being excited to release radiation energy or light energy stored therein, and, therefore, biochemical analysis data having an excellent quantitative characteristic can be produced in a desired manner.

A method for reading a radiation image from a stimulable phosphor sheet composed of a substrate and a stimulable phosphor layer containing a latent radiation image by means of a radiation image-reading means having stimulating light-applying unit and a stimulated emission-collecting unit having a lens and a stimulated emission-receiving plane, which is performed by the steps of applying a stimulating light onto the phosphor layer under the condition that the phosphor sheet moves along its sheet plane in relation to the stimulated emission-collecting unit; collecting a stimulated emission emitting from the area onto which the stimulating light is applied on the emission-receiving plane through the lens; and photoelectrically converting the collected emission into electric signals in the stimulated emission-collecting unit, is improved by moving the stimulable phosphor sheet in relation to the emission-collecting unit under the condition that the stimulating light-applied area of the stimulable phosphor layer is kept apart from the center of the emission-receiving plane with a space in the range defined by a combination of a reference space and a focal depth of the lens, in which the reference space is defined by a length at which the stimulated from the phosphor layer focuses on the plane after passing through the lens.

Method for reading radiation image from stimulable phosphor sheet

A micro array, which comprises a stimulable phosphor sheet, and multiple kinds of biomolecules arrayed and fixed on the stimulable phosphor sheet, is prepared. A biomolecule labeled with an energy generating substance is brought into contact with the micro array and is subjected to hybridization with a fixed biomolecule, which is among the multiple kinds of the biomolecules fixed on the stimulable phosphor sheet. The stimulable phosphor sheet is caused to store energy from the energy generating substance acting as the label of the labeled biomolecule having been hybridized with the fixed biomolecule. The stimulable phosphor sheet is then exposed to stimulating rays, a which cause it to emit light in proportion to the amount of energy stored thereon. The emitted light is photoelectrically detected, and the fixed biomolecule having been hybridized with the labeled biomolecule is thus detected.

Micro array and analyzing method using the same

An improvement of a radiation image storage panel comprising a stimulable phosphor layer which comprises stimulable phosphor particles, a binder and a colorant resides in that a weight ratio of binder to phosphor particles and concentration of coloring are varied along the depth of the phosphor layer in such manner that a mean value of a weight ratio of binder to phosphor particles within 1/4 of the depth of the phosphor layer from one surface thereof is larger than a mean value of a weight ratio of binder to phosphor particles between 1/4 and 3/4 of the depth of the phosphor layer, and a mean value of a weight ratio of colorant to phosphor particles within 1/4 of the depth of the phosphor layer from the surface is smaller than a mean value of the weight ratio of colorant to phosphor particles between 1/4 and 4/4 of the depth of the phosphor layer from the surface.
