Provided is an anode material for a secondary battery which reduces and inhibits swelling of a high-capacity silicon-containing alloy material to realize excellent charge/discharge cycle characteristics. The anode material includes alloy particles containing a transition metal which has electron conductivity, is difficult to react with lithium atoms and is at least one selected from the group of metals that belong to transition metals, and silicon, wherein the alloy particles include amorphous silicon, and silicide microcrystals formed by silicon and the transition metal, and the silicide microcrystals are scattered in amorphous silicon.

Anode material for secondary battery and non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery using the same

Alloy particles for negative electrode active material are proposed, which can impart anti-oxidation property to Si-containing alloy particles, and suppress oxidation of the negative electrode active material due to electrolyte at a considerably high level. A negative electrode material of secondary battery is achieved by a negative electrode material of secondary battery which is capable of intercalating and de-intercalating lithium and which consists of alloy particles including a silicon phase, a metal phase and bismuth, in which a crystallite size of the silicon phase is 10 nm or smaller, and the metal phase includes at least one kind of metal alloying with silicon but not with lithium, and the negative electrode material includes primary particles formed at least by the silicon and the metals.

Negative electrode material for secondary battery and secondary battery using the same

A negative electrode active material is provided, which can reduce and suppress ratio of expansion of silicon, provide enhanced conductivity, and realize superior charge/discharge cycle characteristic. The negative electrode material for secondary battery capable of occluding and releasing lithium consists of alloy particles having a silicon phase and a metal phase, and a carbonaceous material, in which crystallite size of the silicon phase is 10 nm or less, and the metal phase includes two or more kinds of metals alloying with silicon but not with lithium, and the carbonaceous material has crystallite size of 30 nm or more, and the carbonaceous material is present on the surface of, or within the alloy particles.
