A rolling vibration reduction device for an internal combustion engine includes: a main inertial system configured to rotate with a crankshaft of the internal combustion engine; a driving force transmission mechanism configured to transmit a rotational driving force of the crankshaft, a direction of the rotational driving force being reversed by the driving force transmission mechanism; and a sub-inertial system configured to rotate by the rotational driving force transmitted from the driving force transmission mechanism and to reduce rolling vibration of the internal combustion engine associated with rotation of the crankshaft by rotating in an opposite direction to the crankshaft. A torsional resonance frequency in the rolling vibration reduction device is set to a value higher than an explosion primary frequency at a maximum engine speed in a preset operating region of the internal combustion engine.

The variable compression ratio mechanism' comprises: a connecting rodprovided with a crank receiving opening; an eccentric member&#x2032; provided with a piston pin receiving openingand attached to the connecting rod to be able to turn so as to change a length between a center axial line of the piston pin receiving opening and a center axial line of the crank receiving opening; a swing member&#x2032; attached to the connecting rod to be able to swing and able to engage with the eccentric member; and an actuating member&#x2032; swinging the swing member from an initial position toward a stop position. The swing member engages with the eccentric member to turn the eccentric member when swinging from the initial position toward the stop position, and returns from the stop position to the initial position when disengaged form the eccentric member.

Variable compression ratio mechanism and internal combustion engine

An internal combustion engine includes: a head cover covering a cylinder head; and a variable valve actuation mechanism. The variable valve actuation mechanism includes: a cam placed inside the head cover and rotating with a camshaft extending in a rotation axis direction; and an intermediate arm placed inside the head cover and sandwiched between the cam and a rocker arm. A pair of side through-holes, which are provided for a support rod supporting the intermediate arm to pass through, are formed in side portions of the head cover so as to face each other along the rotation axis direction.

An variable valve apparatus for an internal combustion engine according to the invention includes a cam base member, an elastic member, a cam lobe member, and a mechanism for fixing the cam lobe member to the cam base member. The cam lobe member includes a main cam part, and a push part provided at a different position from this. The cam lobe member can move relative to the cam base member, between a first position at which the push part protrudes from the cam base member and a second position at which the main cam part protrudes from the cam base member. The cam lobe member is biased toward the first position by the elastic member. When the push part is pushed by a follower member linked to an engine valve, the cam lobe member can move toward the second position side.

Variable valve apparatus for internal combustion engine

A variable valve apparatus for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention comprises a cam base member rotating with rotation of a camshaft and a cam lobe member. The cam lobe member is movable to the cam base member, between a projecting position where the cam part radially projects and a retreat position where the cam part is retreated. A resilient member urges the cam lobe member toward the projecting position. A movement control apparatus includes a drive member provided for driving the cam lobe member, and the drive member is fixed to the cam lobe member. When the cam lobe member is in a non-fixing state to the cam base member, the cam lobe member is moved from the projecting position to the retreat position with the drive member being pressed.

A poppet valve includes a head and a stem, which extends from the head. At least a part of the back of the head is covered by a cover with a heat insulating space provided in between. A support portion is provided between the cover and the head to support the cover on the head with rubber member having a lower heat conductivity than that of the head between the cover and the head.
