One method includes receiving transmission packets in the local buffer of the modem of the wireless device for wireless transmission to a receiving device, purging a transmission packet from the local buffer after receiving an acknowledgement of reception of the transmission packet from the receiving device, and requesting acknowledgement from the receiving device when a queue of the transmission packets within the local buffer exceeds a threshold level, wherein a time delay is introduced before the requesting of the acknowledgement, wherein the time delay is based at least on a propagation delay of the wireless transmission between the wireless device and the receiving device.

Dynamically controlling a local buffer of a modem of a wireless device

Apparatuses, methods, and systems for adaptive satellite wireless communication parameter selections are disclosed. One method includes predicting, by a base station, characteristics of a communication channel between the base station and a wireless hub, wherein a satellite is located within the communication channel between the base station and the wireless hub, and selecting, by the base station, wireless communication parameter selections including at least an MCS (modulation and coding scheme) based on the predicted characteristics of the communication channel.

Apparatuses, methods, and systems for configuring multicast communication, are disclosed. One method includes generating, by a system platform, a multicast scheduling control packet based upon a distribution of a plurality of hubs, communicating, by the system platform, to a wireless communication base station the multicast scheduling control packet, generating, by the wireless communication base station, a plurality of multicast channel configurations based upon the multicast scheduling control packet, communicating, by the system platform, the multicast scheduling control packet to a wireless communication hub, wherein the wireless communication hub is one of the plurality of hubs, selecting, by the wireless communication hub, specific multicast channels from the plurality of multicast channel configurations, to receive specific multicast data based upon a condition of the hub and the multicast scheduling control packet, and receiving, by the wireless communication hub, multicast data through the selected specific multicast channel configurations.

The invention relates to a solution for determining an allowable round trip time for a communication between a base station and a terminal device served by the base station in an asynchronous communication system, At least some aspects of the solution relate to a method performed by a controller, the method comprises: determining round trip times of terminal devices served by the base station; selecting a maximum round trip time among the determined round trip times of the terminal devices served by the base station as the allowable round trip time; and delivering the selected allowable round trip time to the base station. The solution also relates to applying the determined round trip time by a base station and a terminal device as well as to a system comprising the mentioned entities and to computer program products.

The controller operates to receive a standard set of interfaces and capabilities from a plurality of radios through the abstraction layer network, wherein the abstraction layer provides an interface to connect the radio access technology to a corresponding one of the plurality of radios, receive a request from the radio access technology for a radio of the plurality of radios, and allocate and connect a one of a plurality of radios that satisfies specifications of the request of the radio access technology, wherein the one of the plurality of radios that is allocated and connected to the radio access technology changes over time.
