The present invention relates to a method and a device for expansion forming of an article. According to at least one aspect of the invention, an expansion forming tool is pressure-compensated from two sides, pressure differences on each side being equalized by means of a pressure transmitter, which is applicable to the tool.

Device and method for expansion forming

A press plant includes a press of pressure cell type, into which a tray device, which defines a space intended to receive a workpiece and, optionally, a forming tool, is insertable. The tray device comprises a tray plate and a tray frame. The tray frame is adapted to independently withstand, at least in certain portions, loads applied during the pressing operation. The tray device is divisible into at least an upper part and a lower part. The invention also relates to a method and use of a tray device in a press plant.

Press plant and a method and use for it with a pressure cell and a divisible tray

The invention relates to a press of pressure cell type, which comprises a press chamber in which a diaphragm device is arranged. The diaphragm device includes a diaphragm which together with a press plate forms a pressure cell and is adapted to exert a forming pressure on a workpiece in the press chamber. The edge area of the diaphragm is placed in an annular diaphragm support. The press of pressure cell type also comprises actuating means which are adapted to actively exert a force on the diaphragm support in the direction of the press plate, the diaphragm support pressing the edge area of the diaphragm against the press plate so that an initial seal is provided between the diaphragm at its edge area and the press plate, which seal is built up when supplying pressure medium to the pressure cell by expansion of the diaphragm. The invention also relates to a diaphragm device, a method for applying a pressing power and a method for exchanging a diaphragm in a press of pressure cell type.

Method of exchanging a diaphragm device

The present invention relates to a method in a press of pressure cell type comprising a forming tool and, separated therefrom, a diaphragm, which define a forming space in which a blank is inserted for forming thereof against the forming tool by pressing the diaphragm against the blank. A blank portion projecting from the forming space is gripped by means of at least one gripping device and the connection between the blank and the gripping device is shielded from the diaphragm at least when the diaphragm is pressed against the blank. The invention further relates to a press of pressure cell type and a tray device.

Fluid cell press with a gripping arrangement and method and use of the press

The invention relates to a forming tool for forming sheet blanks in a diaphragm press of the kind comprising an openable, closed pressure chamber, which is divided in a gas and liquid tight manner by means of a flexible diaphragm. The forming tool is arranged on one side of the diaphragm and a sheet blank to be formed is arranged between the forming tool and the diaphragm. The opposite side of the diaphragm is pressurized by a fluid being supplied at high pressure to cause the flexible diaphragm to deform and, thus, the sheet blank to be pressed against the forming tool. The forming tool comprises an elongate cutting and flanging tool along at least part of its periphery and/or around an intended opening in the sheet blank.

Forming tool

A press of pressure cell type includes a press body part. The press body part comprises a number of plates with the planes of the plates oriented parallel to the planes of the adjacent plates. Each plate has a through hole which has the same center axis as the hole of the adjacent plates. Prestressing bands which induce a compressing prestress acting in the planes of the plates are arranged on an external edge surface of each of the plates.

The present invention relates to a press of pressure cell type, a tray for use in a press of pressure cell type and a method. The tray comprises a tray frame, which defines a space for arranging a forming tool and/or a work-piece. Prestressing means are arranged on the external surface of the tray frame and induce a compressing prestress which acts in planes parallel to the plane of the tray. The tray frame presents a curvature along its entire circumference.

Pressure cell press comprising a tray, and a method for manufacturing said tray

A press of pressure cell type, which comprises a press chamber in which a diaphragm device is arranged. The diaphragm device comprises a diaphragm which together with a press plate forms a pressure cell and is adapted to exert a forming pressure on a workpiece in the press chamber. The edge area of the diaphragm is placed in an annular diaphragm support. The press of pressure cell type also comprises actuating means which are adapted to actively exert a force on the diaphragm support in the direction of the press plate, the diaphragm support pressing the edge area of the diaphragm against the press plate so that an initial seal is provided between the diaphragm at its edge area and the press plate, which seal is built up when supplying pressure medium to the pressure cell by expansion of the diaphragm. The invention also relates to a diaphragm device, a method for applying a pressing power and a method for exchanging a diaphragm in a press of pressure cell type.

Diaphragm support and a method for initial sealing in a pressure cell

A high pressure press for treatment of substances such as food includes a floating piston in a pressure chamber, with seals. The floating piston has drainage system for collecting any pressure fluid that leaks past a seal of the floating piston. The drainage system includes a pressure reducer arranged inside the floating piston. The drainage system also includes an elastometic pad which is so arranged as to supply an underpressure to a space where pressure fluid leaking past a seal may collect. Collected pressure fluid is returned to the pressure chamber later in the cycle.

A device and method for expansion forming of an article used in conjunction with an isostatic press comprising a pressure cell equipped with an elastomeric membrane. The expansion forming tool has at least one pressure intensifier and at least one molding cavity. A blank is arranged in the molding cavity and an elastomeric forming body is arranged inside the blank. The pressure intensifier is arranged such that it is acted upon by the elastomeric membrane and it exerts pressure on the elastomeric forming body inside the blank inside the molding cavity so that the blank is expanded into an article shaped according to the shape of the molding cavity.

A method for treatment of one or more wood elements by pressurization comprises the steps embedding the wood elements into a pressure medium, of increasing the pressure in the pressure medium, whereby the wood element is compressed by transmitting the pressure via the pressure medium to the wood elements, and of reducing the pressure in the pressure medium, whereby the wood element is relieved. During the treatment, liquid present in the wood elements is driven out therefrom. The pressure medium comprises a plurality of solid bodies with intermediate spaces. The solid bodies transmit the pressure to the wood elements such that a pressure difference arises between the wood elements and said spaces, which pressure difference drives out the liquid. During the relief phase, the wood elements substantially resume their original shape. The method can also be used for introducing impregnating liquid into the wood elements after the liquid expulsion.

Method for treatment of wood

A device and a method for shaping a flat article under high pressure, in which a one-sided forming tool is used together with a high pressure press equipped with a membrane. The one-sided forming tool comprises at least one first trimming device, a second trimming device provided with a punch, and with at least two clamps arranged to hold a blank in position over said one-sided forming tool. The clamps are arranged moveable in respect to each other such that the blank is stretchable and pressure is applicable by said membrane so shaping the blank against said one-sided forming tool within a single and continuous press operation. The one-sided forming tool also comprises a piercing device. The advantage of the invention is that an article may be stretched, trimmed, shaped and pierced in one continuous forming cycle, which article may also be formed from a blank that has been pre-painted on at least one side.
