According to an aspect, a detection device includes: a substrate; a plurality of photodiodes provided to the substrate and arranged in a first direction; a plurality of lenses provided so as to overlap the photodiodes; and a light-blocking layer provided between the photodiodes and the lenses and having a plurality of openings. More than one of the openings is provided in each of regions overlapping the respective photodiodes, and an arrangement direction of the openings in each of the regions overlapping the respective photodiodes is at an angle to the first direction.

Detection device

The display apparatus includes: a first substrate having a first front surface and a first back surface opposite to the first front surface; a second substrate having a second back surface facing the first front surface and a second front surface opposite to the second back surface; a liquid crystal layer arranged between the first front surface of the first substrate and the second back surface of the second substrate; a first light guide plate bonded and fixed onto the first back surface of the first substrate through a first bonding layer; a second light guide plate bonded and fixed onto the second front surface of the second substrate through a second bonding layer; and a coloring film overlapping the liquid crystal layer in a direction of stacking the first substrate, the second substrate, the liquid crystal layer, the first light guide plate and the second light guide plate.

Display apparatus

A display apparatus includes: a first substrate having a first front surface and a first back surface that is an opposite surface of the first front surface; a liquid crystal layer arranged on the first front surface of the first substrate; a light guide plate having a first main surface facing the first front surface, a second main surface that is an opposite surface of the first main surface and a side surface crossing the first main surface and the second main surface; and a light source unit including a plurality of light emitting elements arranged along a first direction at a position facing the side surface of the light guide plate, and a light emitting surface of the light source unit is arranged to have a different direction from a direction of the side surface of the light guide plate in a thickness direction of the light guide plate.

Used is a display device including: a first substrate having a first front surface and a first back surface located on an opposite side of the first front surface; a second substrate having a second back surface opposing the first front surface and a second front surface located on an opposite side of the second back surface; a liquid crystal layer arranged between the first front surface of the first substrate and the second back surface of the second substrate; a first light guide plate adhesively fixed onto the second front surface of the second substrate via a first adhesive layer; and a light source unit arranged at a position opposing a first side surface of the first light guide plate, in which refractive index of the first light guide plate is lower than refractive index of the first adhesive layer.

Display device

According to one embodiment, a liquid crystal display device includes an array substrate, a counter-substrate, a negative liquid crystal layer including liquid crystal molecules, a retardation film attached to a surface of the array substrate, a first polarizer attached to the retardation film and having a first absorption axis, a second polarizer attached to a surface of the counter-substrate, and having a second absorption axis which is parallel to a direction of initial alignment of the liquid crystal molecules and perpendicular to the first absorption axis, a cover member located opposite to the second polarizer, and ultraviolet curing resin which bonds the second polarizer and the cover member to each other.

According to an aspect, a detection device includes: a substrate; a plurality of photodiodes arranged on the substrate; a protective film that covers the photodiodes; a plurality of lenses provided so as to overlap the respective photodiodes; a first light-blocking layer that is provided between the photodiodes and the lenses and is provided with first openings in regions overlapping the respective photodiodes; and a second light-blocking layer that is provided between the first light-blocking layer and the lenses and is provided with second openings in regions overlapping the respective photodiodes and the respective first openings. The first light-blocking layer is provided with slits in regions overlapping gaps between the photodiodes adjacent to each other, and the second light-blocking layer is provided so as to be continuous across the photodiodes adjacent to each other and is provided so as to overlap the slits.

Detection device and optical filter

A display device includes a first color pixel, a second color pixel neighboring the first color pixel in a first direction, a third color pixel neighboring the second color pixel in the first direction, a fourth color pixel neighboring the first color pixel in a second direction, a fifth color pixel neighboring the second color pixel in the second direction, and a sixth color pixel neighboring the third color pixel in the second direction, wherein each of the first color pixel, the second color pixel, the fourth color pixel and the fifth color pixel has a first long-side length, the third color pixel has a second long-side length which is greater than the first long-side length, and the sixth color pixel has a third long-side length which is less than the first long-side length.

Liquid crystal display device comprising first and second pixel electrodes respectively having first and second slits each having a long axis that extends in different directions

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a display panel configured to hold a liquid crystal layer between a first substrate and a second substrate, a cover member positioned at a side of the second substrate of the display panel, a first optical element positioned at an outer surface side of the first substrate, and a second optical element positioned between the second substrate and the cover member, bonded to an inner surface of the cover member but not bonded to the second substrate.

Display device and manufacturing method of the same

A liquid crystal display panel for displaying images in an active area includes a first substrate having a pair of first short ends and first long ends. A second substrate faces the first substrate so as to hold a liquid crystal layer therebetween. A first polarization plate is arranged on an outside surface of the first substrate. The first polarization plate has a pair of second short ends longer than the first short ends, a pair of second long ends, and a first absorption axis. The angle amade by the first absorption axis with respect to the second short ends is smaller than an angle bmade by the first absorption axis with respect to the second long ends. A second polarization plate is arranged on an outside surface of the second substrate and has a second absorption axis.

Liquid crystal display device

A liquid crystal display device includes a first substrate including a first pixel electrode, a second pixel electrode, and a third pixel electrode, a second substrate including a first color filter opposed to the first pixel electrode, a second color filter opposed to the second pixel electrode, and a third color filter opposed to the third pixel electrode, and a liquid crystal layer held between the first substrate and the second substrate, a first interval along the first direction between the first pixel electrode and the second pixel electrode being smaller than a second interval along the first direction between the second pixel electrode and the third pixel electrode.

According to one embodiment, a display device includes a first substrate including a first pixel electrode disposed in a red color pixel, a second pixel electrode disposed in a green color pixel, and a third pixel electrode disposed in a blue color pixel, a second substrate including a common electrode having a first slit opposed to the first pixel electrode, a second slit opposed to the second pixel electrode, and a third slit opposed to the third pixel electrode, and a liquid crystal layer held between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein at least one of an area and an area ratio of the third slit is greater than that of the first slit and the second slit.
