A rolling stock fitting structure has laminated panels, each formed by sandwiching a core member between a pair of face plates, and channel members are placed between the face plates around the periphery of the panels and possibly in the interior thereof to provide structural strength. The laminated panels, which may be shaped to conform to a particular design, are joined and welded together to form a rolling stock body. The channels are provided with holding members for holding equipment, so that the load of the equipment on the holding member can be distributed through the channel member to the laminated panel, thereby securing the equipment reliably.

A rolling stock fitting structure has laminated panels, each formed by sandwiching a core member between a pair of face plates, and framing shapes are placed between the face plates around the periphery of the panels and possibly in the interior thereof to provide structural strength. The laminated panels, which may be shaped to conform to a particular design, are joined and welded together to form a rolling stock body. This invention relates to a method of fixing an inside panel of a car, and its fixing structure. In a structure for fixing an inside panel by employing an interior decoration material to form a passenger room of a car, the present invention relates to a method and a structure for fixing an inside panel of a car, particularly suitable for a railway car. An inside frame which is press-formed is fixed to frames of a car, and an inside panel is fixed to the inside frame through fasteners. Since the inside panel is fixed to the press-formed inside frame, surface uneveness does not occur on the inside panel even if any unevenness exists on the frames of the car. A cushion material is attached to the inside frame at the joint portion of two inside panels along the joint portion. The inside panel has a decoration sheet bonded to its surface, and this decoration sheet is bent back at the edge portions of the inside panel. Therefore, the appearance of the joint portion can be improved.

A car body for high speed railway rolling stock and a method of fabricating the same wherein, in order to prevent a variation of external pressures produced when the rolling stock travels at high speeds from being propagated into the interior of the car body, the car body is of an air-type construction. The car body has a reduced weight and is capable of withstanding a variation of the external pressures by the provision of a construction in which the underframe of the car body includes a curved surface having at least one radius of curvature extending across a width of the car body.

A car body for railway rolling stock wherein a plurality of outside plates forming the car body are joined to frame members of the car body by spot welding. The outside plates are produced of a ferrous material except for stainless steel and a film or coating is provided on an outside surface of the outside plates. By virtue of the joining of the outside plates to the frame members and the joining of the outside plates to each other by spot welding, less input heat is required as compared with a continuous welding; therefore, outside plate distortion can be reduced and time and labor for manufacturing of the car body can be reduced. Moreover, since the outside plates are produced of a ferrous material, the painting of the outside surfaces of the outside plates can easily be accomplished.

A light weight car body for railway rolling stock wherein the shearing rigidity with respect to a vertical load in a portion near a body bolster of the car body is larger than the shearing rigidity of a portion other than the portion near the body bolster whereby the shearing rigidity of the portion other than the portion near the body bolster of the car body has a sufficient bending rigidity.

A car body of a railway rolling stock wherein the entire car body is divided into a plurality of blocks or modules which are subsequently combined and connected. The individual blocks or modules include a roof construction forming a roof of the car body, side constructions forming respective side walls of the car body, end constructions adapted to be disposed at respective longitudinal ends of the car body to form an end thereof, and an underframe for forming a lower surface of the body. The roof construction, the side constructions and at least one of the side constructions, an underframe are connected through connecting members in which a connected end is extended toward the roof construction, the side constructions or the side constructions and the underframe to be connected, with the entirety being integrally formed by extruded shaped alloy members and arranged to extend in a longitudinal direction of the car body.

An underframe construction for rolling stock vehicles comprising side sills disposed in parallel in the longitudinal direction of the underframe at the opposite outermost locations thereof, end sills connecting the side sills at the both ends in the longitudinal direction of the side sills, body bolsters arranged at positions at which a vertical load applied on the underframe is supported, center sills connecting each one of the end sills and each one of the body bolsters adjoining to one of the end sills, and a plurality of support members, each said support member being composed of upper horizontal flange, bottom plate and vertical web. The support members are disposed sequentially in the longitudinal direction of the underframe in such a fashion that the adjoining vertical webs of the support members are in contact to be bonded together and the both ends of the support members are secured to the side sills. The support members are able to support a load to be taken by the conventional cross beams and corrugated plates, thus enabling a reduction in weight and vertical dimension of the underframe.
