A continuous paper feed device includes a paper feed unit that feeds continuous paper to an image output part; a slack forming unit that forms a slack of continuous paper on a paper transport path; a detecting unit that detects a remaining amount of continuous paper; a cutting unit that cuts the continuous paper; and a cutting controller that controls the cutting unit to cut the continuous paper during a time taken to tighten the slack formed, when paper more than a predefined value which has been set beforehand is transported, and if the remaining amount of paper detected by the detecting unit is more than a threshold value, the cutting controller performing control operation including reducing a length of a slack formed by the slack forming unit and transporting the continuous paper, followed by forming a slack again by the slack forming unit.

An image forming apparatus includes at least one paper supply portion including a roll paper accommodating portion adapted to accommodate a paper roll constituted by winding long paper around a shaft, a roll paper holding portion on which the paper roll is temporarily put, a paper feeding portion adapted to deliver paper from the paper roll accommodated on the roll paper accommodating portion, a horizontal rotating-shaft adapted to support the paper supply portion in a body of the image forming apparatus, the paper supply portion drawn outwardly from the body of the image forming apparatus by being rotated when change of the paper roll is performed, wherein the change of the paper roll can be performed by rotating the paper supply portion to thereby draw out the paper supply portion.

Image forming apparatus

A paper supply apparatus provided with a support component, a slit plate and a rotation force transmission component. The support component freely rotatably supports a winding core around which roll paper is wound. The slit plate rotates integrally or interlockingly with the support component, and causes pulses to be generated at a sensor. The rotation force transmission component transmits a rotation force of the support component to the slit plate. At the rotation force transmission component, predetermined free play in a direction of rotation of the slit plate is provided.
