The present invention provides a light emitting element capable or realizing at least one of lower resistance, higher output, higher power efficiency (1 m/W), higher mass productivity and lower cost of the element using a light transmissive electrode for an electrode arranged exterior to the light emitting structure. A semiconductor light emitting element includes a light emitting section, a first electrode and a second electrode on a semiconductor structure including first and second conductive type semiconductor layers, the first and the second electrodes respectively including at least two layers of a first layer of a light transmissive conductive film conducting to the first and the second conductive type semiconductor and a second layer arranged so as to conduct with the first layer. First and second light transmissive insulating films are respectively arranged so as to overlap at least one part of the first and the second layers.

Semiconductor light emitting element

A light emitting element includes: a semiconductor structure; first and second electrodes formed above the semiconductor structure. In a plan view: the first electrode consists of a first pad electrode configured to be bonded with a first conductive wire and electrically connected to a first external electrode or a first external terminal, a first extending portion extending from the first pad electrode, and two second extending portions extending from the first pad electrode, the second electrode consists of a second pad electrode configured to be bonded with a second conductive wire and electrically connected to a second external electrode or a second external terminal, and two third extending portions extending from the second pad electrode.

Light emitting element

A light-emitting device includes: a light-emitting element emitting a first light having a first peak wavelength; a first wavelength conversion member contacting a side surface of the light-emitting element and including a wavelength conversion material absorbing at least a portion of the first light and emitting a second light having a second peak wavelength different from the first peak wavelength; a second wavelength conversion member on the first wavelength conversion member, the second wavelength conversion member including a wavelength conversion material absorbing at least a portion of the first light and emitting a third light having a third peak wavelength different from the first and second peak wavelengths; and a first light-reflective member on the second wavelength conversion member and at least on the light-emitting element. A continuous light-emitting surface includes a side surface of the first wavelength conversion member and a side surface of the second wavelength conversion member.

Light-emitting device and planar light source that utilizes multiple wavelength conversion layers

A light-emitting device includes a wiring board, a plurality of light-emitting elements disposed on the wiring board, a light-reflecting member covering a lateral surface of each of the plurality of light-emitting elements, a plurality of light-transmitting layers each located above an emission surface of a corresponding one of the plurality of light-emitting elements, a plurality of light-reflecting layers disposed on the plurality of light-transmitting layers, respectively, a light-diffusing layer disposed above the plurality of light-reflecting layers and the light-reflecting member, and a low-refractive-index layer located between the light-reflecting member and the light-diffusing layer, around each pair of one of the plurality of light-transmitting layers and one of the light-reflecting layers, and having a refractive index lower than that of the plurality of light-transmitting layers. Each of the plurality of light-reflecting layer has a width in a cross-sectional view thereof which is equal to or greater than that of a corresponding one of the plurality of light-transmitting layers.

Method of producing light-emitting device and planar light source

A light emitting element includes: a semiconductor structure; first and second electrodes formed above the semiconductor structure; and a protective film. In a plan view: the first electrode has a first connecting portion, a first extending portion, and two second extending portions, the second electrode has a second connecting portion, and two third extending portions, the first extending portion extends linearly in a direction from the first connecting portion toward the second connecting portion, the two second extending portions are located on opposite sides of the first extending portion, respectively, with each of the second extending portions having two bent portions and a linear portion extending parallel to the first extending portion and located between the two bent portions, and the two third extending portions are located between the first extending portion and the two second extending portions, respectively.

A light-emitting element includes: a semiconductor stack having a triangular shape in a top plan view, the semiconductor stack including a first semiconductor layer, a second semiconductor layer, and an active layer between the first and seconds semiconductor layers; a first electrode located on the first semiconductor layer and including a first connecting portion and a first extension extending from the first connecting portion; and a second electrode located on the second semiconductor layer and including a second connecting portion and a second extension extending from the second connecting portion. The first extension includes a first portion extending from the first connecting portion toward the second connecting portion. Light-emitting element

A light-emitting device includes a light-emitting element, a light guide member surrounding the light-emitting element, a diffuser plate located on the light-emitting element and on the light guide member, and a metal pattern located at an upper surface of the diffuser plate. The diffuser plate contacts the light-emitting element and diffuses light emitted from the light-emitting element. A proportion of a region of the upper surface of the diffuser plate where the metal pattern is not located increases as a distance from the light-emitting element increases.

Light-emitting device

A light emitting module including: a light guide member including: an emission region defined by a sectioning groove, a light source placement part located in the emission region, and a light adjusting hole; and a light source disposed in the light source placement part. In the schematic top view: the light adjusting hole is not positioned on a first straight line connecting (i) a center of the light source and (ii) a point in the sectioning groove that is farthest from the center of the light source, and a first lateral face of the light adjusting hole has a first region, and a line normal to the first region is oblique to a second straight line connecting (i) the center of the light source and (ii) a point in the sectioning groove that is closest to the center of the light source.

Light emitting module and planar light source

A light emitting module includes: a light guide member including: an emission region defined by a sectioning groove, a light source placement part located in the emission region, and a light adjusting hole that, in a schematic top view, is located between the sectioning groove and the light source placement part; and a light source disposed in the light source placement part. A refractive index of an inside of the light adjusting hole is lower than a refractive index of the light guide member. In the schematic top view, the light adjusting hole is positioned to intersect with a first straight line connecting a center of the light source and a farthest point in the sectioning groove, the farthest point being farthest from the center of the light source.

A light emitting element includes a semiconductor structure, and first and second electrodes. In a plan view, the first electrode has a first connecting portion, and a first extending portion and exactly two second extending portions. The second electrode has a second connecting portion, and exactly two third extending portions. The first extending portion extends linearly from the first electrode connecting portion toward the second electrode connecting portion. Each of the two third extending portions includes a bent portion, and a linear portion located between the first extending portion and a respective one of linear portions of the two second extending portions, and along an imaginary line that extends through the two second extending portions and the two third extending portions in a direction perpendicular to the direction in which the first extending portion extends, an entirety of the second electrode is located inward of the two second extending portions.

A planar light source includes a light source, a light guide member, and a sectioning member. The light guide member has a light source placement part in which the light source is disposed and a section defining part having a groove surrounding the light source placement part. The sectioning member has light reflectivity and is disposed in the section defining part. A first portion in the section defining part that is furthest from a center of the light source in a plan view has a transmittance higher than a transmittance of a second portion in the section defining part that is closest from the center of the light source in the plan view.

Planar light source

A method of manufacturing a light emitting module includes: providing an intermediate that includes a light guide having a first principal face and a second principal face opposing the first principal face, a plurality of light sources disposed on the second principal face of the light guide, and a wiring layer disposed on the second principal face and electrically connected to the plurality of light sources; allowing the plurality of light sources to emit light and measuring optical characteristics of the emitted light; and forming an optical characteristic correcting element in the intermediate based on the measured optical characteristics.

Method of manufacturing light emitting module

Darkening of the periphery of a light-emitting module in which a plurality of light-emitting units are two-dimensionally arranged is reduced. The present light-emitting module has a light-emitting region including a plurality of light-emitting units two-dimensionally arranged, the light-emitting units each including a light-guiding plate having a first main surface, a first recess opening toward the first main surface, a second main surface opposite to the first main surface, and a second recess opening toward the second main surface; a light source inside the first recess; and a light-reflective first member inside the second recess. In each of the light-emitting units, a center of the light-emitting unit and a center of the second recess coincide with an optical axis of the light source in a plan view. In at least one of the light-emitting units, a center of the first member is closer to a center of the light-emitting region than the optical axis of the light source is in a plan view.
