Provided is a sensor node package where the breakage of a package member and/or a lid member due to thermal stress is reduced. The Young's modulus (220 GPa or less) of the package member, the thermal expansion coefficient (2 to 12 ppm/&#xb0; C.) of the package member, the difference (5 ppm/&#xb0; C. or less) in thermal expansion coefficient between the package member and the lid member, and the thickness (3 mm or less) of the lid member are adapted respectively to fall within predetermined ranges, thereby making it possible for the breakage of the package member and/or lid member due to thermal stress to be reduced effectively.

Sensor node package

A first inorganic powder molded body and a second inorganic powder molded body are obtained. Each of the bodies contains an inorganic powder, an organic dispersion medium having a reactive functional group and a gelling agent and is solidified by chemical reaction of the organic dispersion medium and the gelling agent. Slurry containing a powder component and an organic dispersion medium is applied to a joint surface of the first inorganic powder molded body. The inorganic powder molded bodies are allowed to abut on each other while interposing the slurry therebetween, and integrated together into a joined body. A sintered body is obtained by sintering the joined body.

Method for producing sintered body, and sintered body

The present invention relates to a ceramic tube for a high-intensity discharge lamp, comprising a hollow member and a plug member. The hollow member contains a substantially cylindrical body and a closure for closing one end of the body, and the plug member is inserted into an insertion opening formed at the other end of the body. Before the insertion of the plug member, the insertion opening has a tapered portion with a diameter decreasing in the direction from the open end to the inside at least in an area into which the plug member is inserted. After the insertion of the plug member, an outer wall of the plug member is bonded to an inner wall of the insertion opening.

Ceramic tube for high-intensity discharge lamp and method of producing the same

A translucent polycrystalline sintered body is mainly composed of an alumina, is suitable for the manufacture of an arc tube for a high-intensity discharge lamp, and has an average grain diameter of 35 to 70 &#x3bc;m, preferably 50 to 60 &#x3bc;m. In a case where the sintered body is in a 0.5-mm-thick flat plate shape, the in-line transmittance of the sintered body is 30% or more, preferably 50% or more. In this case, the ratio between maximum and minimum in-line transmittance values is 2:1 to 1:1 in the visible region of 360 to 830 nm. The bending strength of the sintered body is 250 MPa or more, preferably 300 MPa or more.

Translucent polycrystalline sintered body, method for producing the same, and arc tube for high-intensity discharge lamp

A composite luminous vessel containerhas a hollow and polycrystalline alumina capillaryand one or more transparent disk(s)of monocrystalline alumina. The polycrystalline alumina luminous container memberfunctions as a luminous part for a high intensity discharge lamp. Light is emitted from the inside of the polycrystalline alumina luminous memberand radiated through the transparent monocrystalline alumina disk to the outside. The light emitted through the transparent window has a low loss due to the scattering so that the lamp efficiency can be improved. In the case of the light emitted through the transparent monocrystalline alumina, the size of the light source is substantially equal to the distance between the electrodes, so that the light source can be utilized as a point light source. The light emitted from the point light source can be subjected to optical control by combination with reflectors or lenses.

Composite luminous vessels

A mold includes a gate communicating with the entire perimeter of a cavity serving as a space configured to form a molded article. A self-curable molding material with flowability is fed into the perimeter of the cavity through the gate; hence, the mold has a small number of dead ends compared with the case where, for example, the molding material is fed into the cavity through a part of the cavity, preventing the formation of bubbles left in the cavity. The arrangement of a gate and a vent each making an acute angle results in the spontaneous separation of the molded article in the cavity from solidified material portions in the gate and the vent due to shrinkage on curing.

Mold and molding method

The inventive luminous vessel has strong bonding and improved adhesion of the current through conductor provided in the luminous container to a sealing member or the like. A luminous vessel has a luminous container, a solid current through conductor made of a metal or a cermet and a sintered body of a molded body containing at least metal powder fixed to the outside of the current through conductor.

The inventive structure has a reflector substrate comprising a brittle material, a first power supply member electrically connected to a first electrode and a second power supply member electrically connected to a second electrode. A first through hole and a second through hole are provided in the reflector substrate. The first power supply member is inserted into and fixed to a first through hole and the second power supply member is inserted into and fixed to the second through hole. A discharge lamp is supported by the reflector substrate through the power supply members, while the discharge lamp is distant from the reflector substrate.

Structures for supporting discharge lamps and illuminating system

A luminous container has an electrode supporting member composed of a pipe-shaped metal piece. The electrode supporting memberhas a clamped portion pressed and clamped with and non-clamped portions not clamped with a brittle material. The stress generated along a contact interface of the clamped portion and the brittle material is relaxed with the deformation of the electrode supporting member.

Luminous containers and those for high pressure discharge lamps

A structureof brittle material and metal has brittle materialsand a plate-shaped metal piece. The plate-shaped metal piecehas a clamped portionpressed and clamped with the brittle material and a non-clamped portionnot clamped with the brittle material. The deformation of the plate-shaped metal piece relaxes stress generated along an interface where the clamped portionand brittle materialscontact each other.

Structures of brittle materials and metals

A corrosion-resistant member includes a substrate made of a ceramic material and having a diameter of at least 200 mm, and a film of chemically vapor deposited silicon carbide having a thickness of not less than 0.5 mm and covering at least such a portion of the surface of the substrate that is to contact a corrosive material. A process is disclosed for producing such a corrosion-resistant member, which process includes thermally treating the film at a temperature higher, by not less than 50&deg; C. centigrade, than a film-forming temperature at which the film of silicon carbide is formed, after the formation of the silicon carbide film.

Process for producing a corrosion-resistant member

An anti-corrosion ceramic member having a substrate made of a ceramic material, a surface layer made of a fluoride and formed on the substrate, and an intermediate layer formed between the substrate and the surface layer and having the ceramic material of the substrate and the fluoride.

Anti-corrosion ceramic member

A base member made of a metal in which aluminum is included, ceramics in which an aluminum element is included, or a composition member constructed by a metal in which aluminum and ceramics are included, is provided in a container in which a solid fluorine compound such as NaHF is filled. Then, the container is heated at a temperature higher than a decomposition temperature of the solid fluorine compound. After that, the base member is subjected to a heat treatment with the decomposed gas of the solid fluorine compound to form a fluoride layer on a surface of the base member. In this manner, it is possible to obtain an anti-corrosion member which shows a high corrosion property with respect to the corrosion gas of halogen series and its plasma, particularly with respect to chlorine gas and its plasma.

Method of producing anti-corrosion member and anti-corrosion member

A process is disclosed for producing a corrosion-resistant ceramic member, which process includes the steps of preparing a sintered body made of a ceramic material containing at least aluminum, immersing the ceramic sintered body in hydrofluoric acid, and forming a film of aluminum fluoride at a surface layer portion of the ceramic sintered body by heating the ceramic sintered body.

Production of corrosion-resistant ceramic members

A corrosion-resistant member includes a substrate made of a ceramic material and having a diameter of at least 200 mm, and a film of chemically vapor deposited silicon carbide having a thickness of not less than 0.5 mm and covering at least such a portion of the surface of the substrate that is to contact a corrosive material. A process is disclosed for producing such a corrosion-resistant member, which process includes thermally treating the film at a temperature higher, by not less than 50.degree. C. centigrade, than a film-forming temperature at which the film of silicon carbide is formed, after the formation of the silicon carbide film.
