Provided is a method for packing a cable having a static friction coefficient of 0.15 or more and 0.50 or less, a dynamic friction coefficient of 0.10 or more and 0.40 or less and a bending rigidity of 60 gf or more and 350 gf or less. The method includes the steps of: (1) winding the cable into a figure-of-eight shape to form a cylindrical cable bundle, (2) winding a wrapping film as a restraining member, which restrains the cable bundle, around an outer circumferential portion of the cable bundle, (3) winding a wrapping film as a closing member which closes openings on both ends of the cable bundle, and (4) housing the cable bundle being wound with the restraining member and the closing member in a housing container.

Method for packing cable

An optical fiber cable which is suitably set in a conduit by pushing the optical fiber cable into the conduit so as to insert the optical fiber cable through the conduit and which does not reduce the ease of manufacture and the mechanical characteristics of the optical fiber cable. The optical fiber cable includes an optical fiber cable core wire and a sheath covering the optical fiber cable core wire, wherein a dynamic friction coefficient between a surface of the sheath of the optical fiber cable and a surface of a sheath of another optical fiber cable is 0.17 to 0.34, and a dynamic friction coefficient between the surface of the sheath of the optical fiber cable and a surface of a sheet composed of polyvinyl chloride is 0.30 to 0.40.

Optical fiber cable having a sheath and for setting in a conduit

An optical cable gripping member which prevents the kinds of splicing devices from being diversified, thereby enabling reduction of the labor of component management and lowering of the production cost to be realized is obtained. In a cable gripping memberwhich is to be attached to a splicing deviceto hold an optical fiber cablefrom its outer sheath, a spacerwhich fills a gap between one inner wall surfaceof a tubular spacethrough which the optical fiber cableis to be passed, and the spacerin the tubular spaceis formed monolithically with one end of the one inner wall surfacein a manner that the spaceris attachable to and detachable from the one inner wall surface. The spaceris attached to or detached from the one inner wall surface, thereby enabling a plurality of optical fiber cables of different sizes to be held.

Optical cable gripping member

This optical fiber cable is provided with a covering resin including an outermost layer. The outermost layer is formed by a resin composition including: (a) a base resin prepared by adding at least one copolymer selected from an ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer and an ethylene-ethyl acrylate copolymer to a high density polyethylene; (b) 25 to 90 parts by weight of a phosphate salt with respect to 100 parts by weight of the base resin; and (c) 0.75 to 15 parts by weight of either a silicone dispersed polyethylene or a silicone grafted polyethylene with respect to 100 parts by weight of the base resin.

Optical fiber cable for wiring in premises

An optical fiber cable includes an elongated optical element portion having an optical fiber, a pair of tensile strength members and an outer jacket. The optical fiber is composed of one or more plastic coated optical fibers, tight-buffered optical fibers or optical ribbon fibers. The pair of tensile strength members is arranged in parallel at both sides of the optical fiber in a width direction of the optical fiber. The outer jacket covers outer circumferences of the optical fiber and the pair of tensile strength members. A frictional coefficient of the outer jacket is equal to or less than 0.20. Shore D hardness of the outer jacket is equal to or more than 60.

Optical fiber cable and laying method thereof

A thin flat twisted-pair gap cable and gap navigator unit reduces the diameter of twisted-pair wire, aligns them side by side, and fuses and fixes them in place with two plies of tape so as to flatten the conventional round twisted-pair cable in order to pass the conventional round twisted-pair cable used for high-speed transmission through a gap in a window sash or the like. Two core wires each consisting of a small-diameter conductor covered with an insulating covering of PE or the like are twisted together evenly to make the twisted-pair wires, with the necessary number of twisted-pair wires aligned side by side. The insides of two plies of plastic tape are coated with a thermoplastic adhesive and the aforementioned cable is inserted into and sandwiched between the two plies of plastic tape and the tape fused together so that the twisted-pair wires aligned side by side come in the middle of the width of the tape to form a flattened gap cable. Adhesive tape, with the adhesive surface facing out is provided on one side of this flat cable to enable the cable to be stuck to the surface of the gap in the sash of the window.
