A piercing nut according to the present invention includes an internal thread, a ring-shaped punching part, a ring-shaped groove, and a bearing surface. The internal threadis formed at the center of a nut main body. The ring-shaped punching partprotrudes around the outer periphery of the internal thread. The ring-shaped grooveis formed around the outer periphery of the ring-shaped punching part. The bearing surfaceprotrudes around the outer periphery of the ring-shaped groove. The height h of the ring-shaped punching partis equal to or lower than the height H of the bearing surfacein the opposite manner to the conventional technique.

A device for fixing a nut to an inner surface of a pipe member having a small inner diameter is provided. The device includes a unit box () to be inserted into the pipe member, a rotation shaft () extending from the unit box () to the outside of the pipe member, a cam fixed to the rotation shaft () in the unit box (), and a nut holder () that advances from the unit box () toward the inner surface of the pipe member by the rotation of the cam. A pressure receiving member to be abutted on the inner surface of the pipe member is provided on an opposite surface of the nut holder ().

A nut is caulked and fixed to a plate material and a protrusion at an end of a collar is press-fitted into a recessed groove generated on the opposite surface of the plate material at the time of the caulking fixation, thereby fixing the nut and the collar to both surfaces of the plate material, respectively. The plate material is, for example, a metal panel, and the nut is, for example, a pierce nut. Since the collar is caulked and fixed, thermal strain is not generated.
