In a portable electronic device, a card holding structure includes a plurality of holding members formed on a case to hold a card on a card connector having no holding member. The holding members include a flexible arm with an engaging portion and a stationary portion. The card can be attached/detached to/from the portable electronic device by bending the flexible arm.

A light diffusion unit includes (a) a substrate formed with a first hole, (b) a case formed with a second hole and covering the substrate therewith, (c) a light source mounted on the substrate, (d) a light diffuser arranged in the second hole of the case for externally radiating a light emitted from the light source, and (e) a light guide arranged between the substrate and the light diffuser for introducing a light emitted from the light source, to the light diffuser, the light guide partially making close contact with the light diffuser and being partially arranged in the first hole of the substrate.

Light diffusion unit

In a display panel structure, a display panel is interposed between a transparent member and a metal sealing member. The edge portions of the sealing member are cemented to edge portions of the transparent member by adhesive so that the display panel is air-tightly sealed from the outside. The sealing member is integrally formed with a lattice of outwardly raised ribs for adding rigidity to the sealing member.

A portable radio communication apparatus having a key protruding mechanism is disclosed. A key operation board has a plurality of keys mounted thereon, and the key operation board is moved such that the keys protrude from the housing when the apparatus is used and retract within the housing when the apparatus is not used.
