Methods and apparatus provide for carrying out a method for rendering a virtual-three dimensional space on a display, including: acquiring information indicative of a position of a head mounted display worn on a head of a user; acquiring information indicative of a position of an input apparatus for use by the user; acquiring information indicative of an instruction entered in the input apparatus; and generating an image of the virtual three-dimensional space to be displayed on the head mounted display at a viewpoint position and a sightline direction, wherein the generating includes generating an image of the input apparatus at the position in the image determined on a basis of a relative position between the head mounted display of the input apparatus, and wherein the generating includes generating an image of an object which is emitted from the input apparatus in response to the user manipulating the input apparatus.

The present disclosure relates to optical system and display apparatus. An optical system guides a light beam from a display element to an exit pupil. The optical system includes a first optical element including a transmission surface, a reflection-transmission surface, and a reflection surface, and a negative lens including a concave surface on an exit pupil side. The light beam from the display element heads toward the exit pupil via the transmission surface, the reflection-transmission surface, the reflection surface, the reflection-transmission surface, and the negative lens in this order. A predetermined condition is satisfied.

A display apparatus includes a guide element, and an incident optical system causing light from a display element to enter the guide element. The guide element includes a first light guide part guiding the light from the incident optical system in a first direction and a second light guide part guiding the light from the first light guide part in a second direction intersecting with the first direction. The first light guide part has mirrors disposed along the first direction and guiding the light to the second light guide part by reflection. The mirrors include a first mirror and a second mirror. Each of the first and second mirrors has a first reflection region and a second reflection region having a higher reflectance than the first reflection region. Light having transmitted through the first reflection region of the first mirror enters the second reflection region of the second mirror.

Display apparatus and head mounted display

A display apparatus includes: a guide element including a first part guiding light from the incident optical system in first direction and a second part guiding the light from the first part in second direction intersecting with the first direction; and an incident optical system. The first part has a first mirrors guiding the light to the second propagation part by reflection. The second part has a second mirror set causing the light to exit in third direction from the light element by reflection. The first part has a first reflection surface facing the first mirrors. The second part has a second reflection surface facing the second mirrors. The incident optical system causes the light coming from the display element to enter the first part obliquely with respect to the second and third directions.
