Provided is a resin composition which contains (A) a polyethylene wax satisfying the requirements (i)-(iv) described below and (B) at least one resin selected from the group consisting of thermoplastic resins and thermosetting resins, wherein the mass ratio of (A) to (B) is from 0.1/99.9 to 50/50. This resin composition is useful for providing a toner which can be fixed by means of a relatively-low-temperature heating body and has good offset resistance, and which is suppressed in increase of particle diameters even if the toner is stored for a long period of time. (i) The weight average molecular weight (Mw) is within the range from 400 to 1,500. (ii) The molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) is within the range from 1.2 to 2.5. (iii) The penetration as measured at 25&#xb0; C. is 5 dmm or less. (iv) The melting point (Tm) is within the range from 50&#xb0; C. to 110&#xb0; C.

Resin composition, toner for electrophotography and hot melt composition

Provided is a resin composition containing: (A) an ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer containing 91.0-99.9 parts by mole of (a) an ethylene-derived unit and 0.1-9.0 parts by mole of (b) a C-C&#x3b1;-olefin-derived unit (wherein (a)+(b) is 100 parts by mole), while satisfying the requirements (i)-(iv) and (B) a thermoplastic resin and/or a thermosetting resin, wherein the mass ratio (A)/(B) is 0.1/99.9 to 50/50. This resin composition is useful for providing a toner which can be fixed by a relatively-low-temperature heating body and has good offset resistance, and which is suppressed in increase of particle diameters even if the toner is stored for a long time. (i) The Mw is 400 to 1,500. (ii) The Mw/Mn is 1.2 to 2.5. (iii) The penetration measured at 25&#xb0; C. is 13 dmm or less. (iv) The melting temperature is 50&#xb0; C. to 110&#xb0; C.

Resin composition, toner for electrophotography, hot melt composition and ethylene/&#x3b1;-olefin copolymer

The present invention addresses the problem of providing an electrophotographic toner which has excellent storage property, is excellent in offset resistance and low-temperature fixing property during printing and has few substances causing staining with time, odor or dust inside a copy machine or a printer. The present invention relates to an electrophotographic toner characterized by containing an ethylene copolymer which comprises a constituent unit (a) derived from ethylene in an amount of 80 to 99.5% by mol and a constituent unit (b) derived from a cyclic olefin of 8 or more carbon atoms in an amount of 0.5 to 20% by mol [(a)+(b)=100% by mol] and satisfies the requirements: (i) the intrinsic viscosity [&#x3b7;] is in the range of 0.01 to 0.50 dl/g, and (ii) the crystallinity is in the range of 50 to 90%.

Electrophotographic toner

A heat-sensitive recording material includes a heat-sensitive recording layer on a support which layer produces a color upon heating, and a protective layer on the heat-sensitive recording layer. The protective layer is obtained from a composition (A) based on an emulsion of a copolymer resin (a). The copolymer resin (a) includes a vinyl monomer component having a carboxyl group, and a vinyl monomer component copolymerizable with the vinyl monomer component. The copolymer resin (a) contains 1 to 10 parts by weight of the vinyl monomer component having a carboxyl group. The copolymer resin has a SP value (solubility parameter) of not less than 9.5 (cal/cm)and a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 20 to 130&#xb0; C. The emulsion of the copolymer resin (a) has a minimum film-forming temperature (MFT) of more than 5&#xb0; C. The emulsion for heat-sensitive recording material provides high durability, in particular water resistance, antiblocking properties in water-wetted state and chemical resistance, and has significantly improved storage stability.

Heat-sensitive recording materials

The present invention provides a thermal recording material, which is easy to manufacture and has excellent productivity, water resistance, heat resistance (running stability) and chemical resistance, by solving various problems caused by using a crosslinking agent for a protective layer. The thermal recording material of the present invention comprises a protective layer mainly composed of a resin emulsion (a) comprising a copolymer resin emulsion (b) containing (meth)acrylonitrile and a vinyl monomer copolymerizable therewith, and having an SP value (solubility parameter) of 12.0 or more, a glass transition temperature (Tg) of 10 to 70&#xb0; C., and a minimum film-forming temperature (MFT) of 5&#xb0; C. or less, and a polyolefin copolymer resin emulsion (c).
