Sliding bearing material

The wear resistance and seizure resistance of the sliding material consisting of a metal backing, a Cu-based sintered layer, and resin and solid lubricant filled in the pores of the sintered layer are improved by determining the following features (a) multi-layer Cu particles; from 30 to 200 .mu.m of the diameter of the Cu particles; porosity of from 5 to 70% of the sintered layer; resin, MoS.sub.2 and graphite filled in the pores.

Sintered sliding material

A lip seal device comprises: a case surrounding a rotary shaft; a lip having an outer peripheral base end portion secured to the case, and an inner peripheral front end portion curved towards a sealed fluid so as to be in sliding contact with said rotary shaft; and an annular groove formed in the sealing surface of the front end portion of the lip. The lip seal device further comprises an elastic retaining member arranged in such a manner that the outer peripheral base end portion secured to the case, the inner peripheral front end portion is laid over the front end portion of the so as to push the front end portion of the lip against the rotary shaft, and the front end portion of the retaining member is held spaced from the rotary shaft, whereby even when the lip seal device is vibrated or the rotary shaft vibrates, an excellent sealing effect can be expected.

Lip seal device

A lip seal device for sealing the gap between a housing and a rotary shaft comprises a case surrounding the rotary shaft, a lip seal attached inside the case a, support for holding the lip seal on the outer circumferential portion thereof and a seal located on the outside circumferential surface of the case. The inner circumferential portion of the lip seal is curved toward the sealed fluid. The lip seal includes a sealing surface provided with an annular groove extending continuously in the circumferential direction of the rotary shaft so that the sealing surface has a first and second sealing portion, the contact pressure of the first sealing portion on the rotary shaft being lower than the contact pressure of the second sealing portion on the rotary shaft.

A lip seal device for sealing the gap between a housing and a rotary shaft comprises a case surrounding the rotary shaft, and a lip seal located on the case and curved toward a sealed fluid and having a sealing surface in sliding contact with an outer circumferential surfaces of the rotary shaft. The lip seal device includes a seal member on the seal surface for sealing a gap between the seal surface and the rotary shaft. The seal member includes a primary annular groove and an auxiliary seal means. The primary annular groove extends continuously in the circumferential direction of the rotary shaft. The auxiliary seal means, either projections or grooves are provided adjacent to the primary annular groove.

A lip seal device for sealing the gap between a housing and a rotary shaft comprises a case surrounding the rotary shaft, a lip seal attached inside the case, support means for holding the lip seal on the other circumferential portion thereof and seal means located on the outside circumferential surface of the case. The inner circumferential portion of the lip seal is curved toward the sealed fluid. The lip seal includes a sealing surface provided with an annular groove extending continuously in the circumferential direction of the rotary shaft so that the sealing surface has a first and second sealing portion, the contact pressure of the first sealing portion on the rotary shaft being lower than the contact pressure of the second sealing portion on the rotary shaft.

Lip seal device having an annular groove

A lip seal device for sealing the gap between a housing and a rotary shaft comprises a case surrounding the rotary shaft, a plurality of lip seals fitted inside the case and including at least two lip seals, support means for holding the lip seals on the outer circumferential portions thereof and seal means located on the outside of the circumferential surface of the case. The inner circumferential portions of the lip seals are curved toward the sealed fluid and have a sealing surface in contact with the outside circumferential surface of the rotary shaft. The contact pressure of the lip seal furthest from the sealed fluid is lower than the contact pressure of the lip seal closest to the sealed fluid.

Dual lip seal device

A lip seal device for a rotary shaft in which an annular metal casing has a cross section almost in a box shape except for a radially and axially inward gap. A seal member fills most of the box. A spacer and a radially outer portion of a lip seal, contacting the rotary shaft at its inner portion, are sandwiched in the gap between a radial wall of the casing on one side and the seal member and an end of the inner axial wall of the casing.

The present invention relates to a sliding member having a novel micropore structure and an improved seizure resistance and seal property. Conventionally, the surface roughness of a sliding member is defined by, for example, maximum and/or average roughness. In the present invention, first, there is prepared a sliding member which has a hardness of at least HRc 50 and has micropores for determining the surface roughness of the sliding surface thereof, wherein the micropores, when measured with a particle counter, are present essentially in an amount ranging from 5% to 40% based on an area of the sliding surface and ranging from 2,000 to 150,000 per mm.sup.2 on the sliding surface and have a diameter of at least 0.5 .mu.m. A top portion of ridges which define the micropores is slightly rounded, thereby providing flat or round configuration in terms of the relative load curve, the relative load curve being defined by the accumulative percentage (t.sub.k) and the cutting depth (CV.sub.k) and the accumulative percentage (t.sub.k) being both: an accumulative percentage (t.sub.k) of 5% or less at a cutting depth (CV.sub.k) of less than 1 .mu.m and an accumulative percentage (t.sub.k) of more than 5% but less than 40% at a cutting depth of less than 0.5 .mu.m.
