A cooling fan assembly has an inner surface provided with a guide body for guiding a cooling air towards a first engine cylinder, positioned on a leading side with respect to the direction of rotation of the cooling fan assembly, and a second engine cylinder, positioned on a trailing side, after the cooling air has been separated. The guide body includes an upright wall protruding from the inner surface of the fan casing in an axial direction of the cooling fan assembly and extending radially outwardly and spirally from the inner surface of the fan casing as it progresses from the trailing side towards the leading side, and a ceiling wall connected with a projecting end of the upright wall and extending inside the spirality and operable to guide the cooling air inside the spirality of the upright wall towards the first engine cylinder.

Air-cooled V-type combustion engine

An air-cooled engine is provided, in which a cooling fan assembly for inducing a stream of cooling air and a screen member for covering an axial end face of the cooling fan on a suction side are drivingly mounted on a rotary drive shaft of the engine. A fan casing covering the cooling fan assembly and defining an air flow path for the flow of the stream of cooling air is formed with an air intake opening through which the cooling air is introduced towards the cooling fan assembly and the screen member. A cutter is formed in an outer peripheral portion of the screen member or its neighbor so as to protrude axially close to an inner surface of the fan casing at a position downstream of the cooling air from the air intake opening.

Internal combustion engine

An air cleaner unit of the present invention includes a removable cleaner case having defined therein an outflow port, located below the filter element, for discharging an air, introduced into the cleaner case, towards the combustion engine and including a case body opening downwardly and a bottom plate closing the opening of the case body, and a filter element replaceably accommodated within the cleaner case for substantially purifying the air introduced into the cleaner case through an air intake port. A pedestal is carried by the combustion engine and has an outer peripheral surface, which is substantially in flush with an outer peripheral surface of the filter element within the cleaner case. This filter element within the cleaner case is removably mounted on the pedestal. The bottom plate has a mounting hole defined therein and encircling the outer peripheral surface of the pedestal.

Air cleaner unit for combustion engine

A liquid-cooled, vertical shaft type combustion engine is provided with a duct utilizing a stream of cooling air induced by a cooling fan to cool various parts of the combustion engine. The combustion engine includes an engine body, a crankshaft accommodated in the engine body so as to extend in a vertical direction, at least one engine cylinder head disposed at a front portion of the engine body, a radiator mounted above the engine body for circulating an engine coolant, a duct positioned below the radiator, and a cooling fan operatively accommodated within the duct. The duct has at least a front discharge opening and side discharge ports defined in a peripheral wall for discharging a stream of cooling air induced by the cooling fan, in a direction forwardly of the engine body and in a direction slantwise forwardly of the engine body.

Liquid-cooled, vertical shaft type combustion engine

To provide a small-size engine having a forced air cooling system, wherein the amount of protrusion of the air intake system outwardly from the engine body can be minimized and the limitation on the space required for installation of the engine to the various work units can be alleviated, the engine includes a cooling fan () mounted on one end of a crankshaft () and has a longitudinal axis (S) of a cylinder block () inclined relative to a horizontal direction and also to a vertical direction. To provide a four-cycle overhead valve engine wherein the breather passage is defined to avoid an undesirable increase in size of the engine as a whole and also to avoid increase in length of the breather passage, a four-cycle overhead valve engine is provided which includes a cylinder block ( ), and push rods ( and ) for driving intake and exhaust valves ( and ), respectively, that are mounted above the cylinder block ( ). Four-cycle overhead valve engine

To provide a breathing device for an internal combustion engine, wherein the structure around the check valve is simplified so that the engine as a whole can be manufactured compact, the breathing device includes a check valve ( ) for fluid connecting, a crank chamber ( ) and a rocker arm chamber ( ) in the combustion engine. The check valve ( ) is disposed in a head gasket ( ) that is interposed between a cylinder block ( ) and a cylinder head ( ). The check valve ( ) is in the form of a reed valve separate from the head gasket ( ) and is supported by the head gasket ( ) by means of a rivet ( ).

Breathing device for internal combustion engine

A cam shaft for engine is constructed such that the cam shaft driven by a crankshaft is rotatably supported at both ends by respective journal bearing boxes. Either one of the journal bearing boxes is fed with pressure oil from an oil pump to cause the oil pressure gathered within the journal bearing box to act upon the end face of the cam shaft so that the cam shaft is normally biased in a constant axial direction.

A small watercraft having a float on either side of its hull pivotally connected thereto for rotation about a shaft mounted parallel to the direction of movement of the watercraft between a horizontal operative position and a vertical inoperative position taken when the watercraft is stowed away. The floats can be locked in these two positions and in any position as desired between these two positions. Each float is substantially triangular in planar configuration and diverges in going toward the stern of the watercraft. When the watercraft is stationary on the water, the forward end of each float is exposed from the surface of the water; and when the watercraft is planing, each float is exposed in its entirety on the surface of the water.

A device for sealing electric wires is disclosed comprising a cap screw threadedly attached to an opening in a casing of a system or apparatus, and a flexible sealing member extending from the interior of the cap screw longitudinally outwardly thereof and having bores therein through which the wires pass. Each of the bores has different diameter portions, i.e. the same as the diameter of the wire in an inner portion of the sealing member within the cap screw, and greater diameter in an outer portion thereof in order to prevent the wires from being broken due to vibrations.

Power propelled boat including a boat hull and an engine for providing a propulsive force. The engine has one or more electric components such as ignition coils, voltage regulators and capacitor discharge ignition units which are housed in a casing mounted on the boat hull. The components are connected with functionally associated electric parts such as ignition plugs, generators and magnetos through wires which are connected with the components through a specially designed connector.

A magneto casing for an engine connected to an engine crankcase in liquidtight sealing relationship by means of an oil seal which permits small amounts of air to pass therethrough is formed therein with an air passage having mounted therein a filter which is repellent to water but permeable to air. When the internal pressure of the magneto casing undergoes changes due to variations in the pressure within the crankcase which occurs when the engine operates, only air is allowed to flow into and out of the magneto casing through the filter in the air passage and water is prevented from entering the magneto casing.
