A molded circuit component for connecting to lead wires includes body and a protective cover. The body includes a partition wall area having a plurality of housing grooves, partition walls, body notches, positioning projections and fastening pin reception apertures. The protective cover includes a plurality of cover notches, recesses and fastening pins to correspond respectively with the body notches, positioning projections and fastening pin reception apertures. Metal lines having connection terminals on their ends are embedded in the housing grooves. Lead wires are positioned in the grooves so that the conductors of the lead wires are placed on, and attached to, the connection terminals. The protective cover is then attached to the body.

Molded circuit component unit for connecting lead wires

A molded electrical connector for connecting electrical conductors comprises a molding section in which a plurality of metallic circuits are arranged in parallel with one another at predetermined intervals and are fixedly molded with resin such that first end portions of the metallic circiuts are exposed as connecting terminals. The molded electrical connector further comprises a connecting section which comprises the connecting terminals. The connecting section is molded with resin simultaneously when the molding section is formed. Electrical conductors are placed on the connecting terminals of the metallic circuits and welded together.

Moulded electrical connector and method for manufacturing same

An apparatus for joining a plurality of lead wires with a corresponding plurality of flat type electric wires. The apparatus comprises a plurality of connector terminals, each having a first caulking portion for securing the round wire to a first end of the connector terminal, and a clasping portion for securing the flat wire to a second end of the connector terminal, the clasping portion comprising a first and second spring portion, a projecting portion projecting from the clasping portion toward the flat wire, and second caulking portion for compressing the flat electric wire between the first and second spring portion by securing the first spring portion to the second spring portion. The projecting portion may receive solder so that the flat type electric wire can be spot welded to the connector terminal. To prevent short circuits between the connector terminals, a comb-like spacer may separate the connector terminals, or the exterior of each connector terminal may be insulated. The connector terminals may be encased in resin or the like to provide further protection from exposure. The resulting connection is extremely compact, reliable, and provides a stable electrical connection over time.

Apparatus for connecting sets of electric wires to lead wires

A method of forming a connection part for polyolefin insulated electrical wires or cables is disclosed which comprises a cross-linkable reinforcing insulation layer around said connection part, providing around said reinforcing insulation layer a heat shrinkable tube consisting of an integrated assembly of a semiconductive layer and a specific insulated portion consisting of at least two cylindrical heat shrinkable semiconductive members in combination with each other through an insulation material, and then heating said tube under pressure to effect crosslinking of said reinforcing insulation layer and cause said reinforcing layer to become integrated with said heat shrinkable tube. A heat shrinkable tube for use in this method is also described.

Method of forming an insulated conductor splice utilizing heat

A process for producing an optical fiber is disclosed. The process comprises forming a primary coating layer on a glass fiber, forming a secondary coating layer comprising a polyamide resin or polyester elastomer composition containing a polyfunctional monomer as a crosslinking agent, and crosslinking the secondary coating layer by irradiation with electron rays having a maximum transmittance thickness smaller than the total thickness of the primary and secondary coating layers. The resulting optical fiber has excellent heat resistance without causing optical transmission loss.

Process for producing optical fiber for optical transmission

A process for producing an optical fiber comprising forming a primary coating layer on a glass fiber, forming a secondary coating layer comprising a polyamide resin or polyester elastomer composition containing a polyfunctional monomer as a crosslinking agent and a lead compound as a radiation-shielding material on the primary coating layer, and crosslinking the secondary coating layer by irradiation with electron rays having a maximum transmittance thickness smaller than the total thickness of the primary and secondary coating layers is disclosed. The resulting optical fiber has excellent heat resistant without causing optical transmission loss.

A heat-shrinkable tube for use in forming a connection part for shielded polyolefin insulated electrical wires or cables. The heat-shrinkable tube comprises an integrated assembly of two cylindrical heat-shrinkable semiconductive members arranged end-to-end and surrounded and joined at the adjacent ends thereof by an insulation material. The shrink ratio of a narrow region of the heat-shrinkable tube defined by the adjacent ends and joining insulation material is smaller than that of the remainder of the tube. The adjacent ends of the cylindrical members may partially overlap each other, and a portion of each adjacent end may be folded back upon itself to produce a rounded shape for avoiding concentration of the electric field.

A process for producing a crosslinked polyethylene insulated cable having an outer semiconductive layer which comprises providing an internal semiconductive layer, and an electrically insulating layer on an electrical conductor in conventional manner, coating by extrusion a resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of an ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer having a vinyl acetate content of at least about 55% by weight and about 5 to about 100 parts by weight of carbon black and a crosslinking effective amount of a crosslinking agent on said electrically insulating layer and heating said coated composition to at least about 230.degree. C. to crosslink said resin composition is disclosed. This process assures high production speed. When the ethylene/vinyl acetate copolymer used has a vinyl acetate content of at least about 80% by weight the outer semiconductive layer can easily be peeled off by hand.

Process for preparing a high voltage ignition cable having low

A method of manufacturing heat shrinkable tubing having one portion thereof in the form of a single tube and the remaining portion thereof in the form of plural tubes. The heat shrinkable tubing is manufactured by extruding a thermoplastic tube and then longitudinally sealing the tube periodically with applied pressure while the tube is heated to form predetermined plural tube lengths. The tube is then subjected to irradiation, heated to at least the softening temperature of the material of the tube and it is then partially inflated and thermoset by cooling to impart heat shrinkable properties to the tube. The heat shrinkable tube so formed is then periodically cut to form a plurality of heat shrinkable tube sections which each consist of a single tube portion and a remaining plural tube portion.
