To provide a package for light emitting element accommodation that realizes enhanced reflectance without application of a metal plating onto a ceramic. There is provided a package for light emitting element accommodation comprising ceramic substrate () having conductor mounting region () for mounting of light emitting element () on its upper surface; frame () of a light reflecting material containing 74.6 mass % or more of alumina whose average particle diameter after sintering is 2.5 &#x3bc;m or less, the frame () disposed on an upper surface of the substrate () in such a fashion that internal circumferential surface () of through-hole () expands outward; and light emitting element () mounted on the conductor mounting region () of the substrate (). Thus, the reflectance of the frame () is enhanced without application of a metal plating thereonto.

A solid defoaming composition, and a process for making the composition, is described. The defoaming composition comprises a solid nonionic surfactant, selected from aliphatic esters of glycerol and propylene glycol; a solid, water-soluble polymer, selected from carboxyvinyl polymers and poly(vinyl alcohol)s; and a silicone composition, composed of a fine silica powder and a silicone oil having a viscosity of at least 100 cS at 25.degree. C. A molded cake of the composition of this invention does not bleed silicone oil and may be employed to defoam aqueous systems for extended periods without the need to replenish the active ingredient. The composition is particularly useful for defoaming septic tanks and sewage.

A composition for viscous fluid coupling is described. The composition comprises a liquid organopolysiloxane and a reaction product of a liquid organopolysiloxane with an aromatic aminophenol in the presence of a quaternary phosphonium hydroxide. The composition is characterized by a long term stability, undergoing little torque variation even at elevated temperatures and high shear forces.

A thermal stabilizer for organopolysiloxane oils is disclosed. The stabilizer is formed by the reaction of (A) an organopolysiloxane with (B) an aromatic aminophenol in the presence of (C) a quaternary phosphonium hydroxide, or in the presence of both the quaternary phosphonium hydroxide comprising component (C) and (D) an organopolysiloxane cyclic. Organopolysiloxane oils containing said thermal stabilizer are not subject to viscosity increases or gelation in long-term heating at high temperatures. Furthermore, such combinations show very little viscosity decline in long-term heating at high temperatures.
