A glass pane for use in a vehicle is composed of a main portion held by a frame provided at a portion of a body of the vehicle and an organic paint coated on an inside-periphery of the glass. The coated organic paint on the glass serves for concealing an inside of the vehicle from the outside thereof.

A composite nickel plated sliding surface is obtained by the formation of a composite nickel plating film on a sliding surface of an automobile part such as an engine cylinder or piston by electroless nickel plating. The plating film contains at least one member of wear resistant particles having an average particle size of 0.1 to 1.0.mu. selected from SiC, TiC, WC, BC.sub.4, TiN, Al.sub.2 O.sub.3 or the like, and also at least one member of lubricating particles having an average particle size of 1 to 10.mu. selected from BN, MoS.sub.2, and Teflon. The nickel plating bath is adjusted to have a phosphorus concentration of 0.5 to 12%. When the matrix of the nickel plating film has a phosphorus concentration of 0.5 to 5%, the film hardness is improved.

A plating apparatus for plating an annular diaphragm member which includes a first lower member including a first vertical passage formed therein having an opening, an outlet port in fluid communication with the first vertical passage, and a surface formed around the upper opening for mounting the annular member thereon, a second, upper member detachably mounted on the first member so as to form a casing, the second member including a second vertical passage formed therein having a lower opening opposed to the upper opening, and an inlet port in fluid communication with the second vertical passage, the lower opening having a larger radius than that of the upper opening, a positive electrode positioned above an upper inner peripheral portion of the annular member, a mechanism for supplying plating fluid under pressure to the inlet port, a control mechanism for controlling current distribution from the positive electrode to the upper inner peripheral portion of the annular member and a negative electrode electrically connected to the annular member wherein plating fluid is supplied to the inlet port under pressure and is discharged from the outlet port.

A plating apparatus for plating a member which includes a casing having a chamber formed therein for housing the member to be plated, an inlet port for receiving plating fluid, and an outlet port for discharging the plating fluid, the inlet and outlet ports being in communication with each other through the chamber wherein the casing further includes a first member having the inlet and outlet ports formed therein, and a second member connected to the first member, an electrode operatively associated with the member to be plated, an actuating mechanism for disconnecting the second member from the first member and a mechanism for supplying the plating fluid to the inlet port.
