A mounting plate has an opening provided for bonding a solid-state imaging device thereto. The opening of the mounting plate comprises a first edge portion and a second edge portion. The first edge portion corresponds to a first side of part of the contour of a light receiving area of the solid-state imaging device. The second edge portion corresponds to a second side of part of the contour. The first and second edge portions function as reference lines for positioning the solid-state imaging device over said opening.

An optical device includes an optical system mount plate, a casing, and a screw-hole forming part. An optical system is mounted on the optical system mount plate. The optical system mount plate is housed in the casing. The screw-hole forming part is provided on a bottom of the casing such that a screw provided on a tripod head can threadedly fit in the screw-hole forming part. The screw-hole forming part and at least one portion of the bottom are engaged with the optical system mount plate so as to counteract a rotational tightening force that is applied to the screw-hole forming part when the screw is threadedly tighten in the screw-hole forming part.

Optical device

A binocular telescope comprises right and left slide plates, and right and left mount plates disposed on the right and left slide plates. Right and left telescopic optical systems are mounted on the right and left slide plates which can be moved to adjust interpupillary distance for a user. A part of the right telescopic optical system is mounted on the right mount plate, and a part of the left telescopic optical system is mounted on the left mount plate. The right and left mount plates are moved along the optical axes of the right and left telescopic optical systems, to perform a focusing operation. The right and left slide plates have straight portions extending parallel to the optical axes. The right and left mount plates have right and left guide shoes slidably engaged with the straight portions.

Binocular telescope

A structure for assembly of a binocular telescope with a photographing function, comprises a lower frame, an upper frame, and an engaging mechanism. A pair of telescopic optical systems is mounted on the lower frame. A photographing unit is mounted on the upper frame. A first part of the engaging mechanism is provided on the lower frame. A second part of the engaging mechanism is provided on the upper frame. The first part and the second part are connected by assembling the upper frame onto the lower frame in such a manner that the photographing unit is placed between the pair of telescopic optical systems.

Structure for assembly of binocular telescope with photographing function

A strap mounting mechanism for an optical viewing device, such as binoculars, has a lens barrel body and a cover member which closes an opening of the lens barrel on the eyepiece side. The lens barrel body is provided at a circumferential surface thereof adjacent to the cover member, with a through hole. The cover member is provided with a strap insertion opening and a strap guide wall integral therewith, which is fitted at its one end in the through hole and is connected at the other end to the strap insertion opening to define a strap passage in the lens barrel body.

Strap mounting mechanism for an optical viewing device

A zooming monocular or zooming binoculars having an objective optical system and an eyepiece optical system, which includes at least one variable power lens group driven in the optical axis in the eyepiece optical system, a movable field stop which is provided to define the field of view so as to move in the optical axis direction independently of the variable power lens group, and driving means for moving the movable field stop in association with the movement of the movable variable power lens group in the optical axis direction along a track different from a track of the movement of the movable power lens group. The power is varied by moving a part of the eyepiece or ocular optical system and a reference diopter is maintained constant upon variations of the power at -1.+-.0.5 diopter.

Variable power optical system

A binocular comprising a binocular body, one or a pair of objective lens-barrel unit or units, a pair of eyepiece lens-barrels and a pair of image-erecting chambers. A pair of parallel optical axes pass through the objective lens-barrel unit or units. The image-erecting chambers are arranged between the objective lens-barrel unit or units and the eyepiece lens-barrels. The image-erecting chambers have incorporated therein their respective prism units for optically connecting the optical axes of the objective lens-barrel unit or units to respective optical axes of the eyepiece lens-barrel units. Each of the image-erecting chambers is associated with the binocular body for angular movement relative thereto about a corresponding one of the optical axes of the objective lens-barrel unit or units in such a manner that the optical axes of the respective eyepiece lens-barrel units are movable angularly toward and away from each other respectively about the optical axes of the objective lens-barrel unit or units.
