To smooth the surface of a flow sheet that is used in a paper machine and make the flow sheet easy to handle, reinforced fibers are disposed in a mold. The entire moldis covered with enclosing membersso that an enclosed spaceis formed inside the enclosing members. While air in the enclosed spaceis being suctioned through one end of the enclosed space, matrix resin is supplied to the reinforced fibers through the other end of the enclosed spaceto impregnate the reinforced fibers with the matrix resin, and the matrix resin is hardened, whereby there is obtained a flow sheet whose surface smoothness is 0.25 &#x3bc;m or less in terms of arithmetical mean roughness.

Flow sheet for paper machine and method of manufacturing the same

The invention provides tube bank structure and a method of manufacturing a flow tube, which can improve the stabilization of the flow of stock in the tube bank of the headbox of a papermaking machine and prevent the development of turbulence and uneven concentration of stock flow by a simple and inexpensive means, resulting in speedup of papermaking process. Said flow tubes has a smaller diameter pipe portion of a circular cross-section in the inlet side, a larger diameter pipe portion connected to said smaller diameter pipe portion, a tapered pipe portion, and a rectangular pipe portion, the cross-sectional configuration of said tapered pipe portion being changed smoothly from circular to rectangular configuration.

Tube bank structure, and flow tube producing method

A paper former comprises two wires which converge for defining a paper production gap and a plurality of dewatering blades arranged in the paper production gap in a paper producing direction and brought into sliding contact with one of the two wires so that a stock is dehydrated while being conveyed in a state put in the paper production gap. Each of the plurality of dewatering blades is shaped into a convexly curved surface configuration bent along a traveling direction of the wires and equipped with a wire sliding contact surface brought into sliding contact with said wire for guiding the traveling of said wire, and grooves are made in said wire sliding contact surfaces as a moisture run-off opening for running off moisture developing through the dewatering from the wire side. This paper former thus constructed can suppress the occurrence of paper defects stemming from the landing of a material jet or paper defects stemming from the dewatering property, thus improving the paper quality.

Former for use in paper production

A flow rate regulating apparatus of a paper-making machine headbox is compact, can regulate the flow directions of jets of the wet paper stock during operation, and prevents stagnation. Each of tubes at ends of a tube bank disposed upstream of a slice chamber of the headbox for receiving stock from a tapered header includes a first tubular portion consisting of an inlet section having a small inner diameter, a take-out section protruding to the outside of the tube bank, and an outlet section contiguous to the take-out section, and a second tubular portion having a large inner diameter. The inner diameter of each take-out section is larger than the inner diameter of tubes located in the central portion of the tube bank. The take-out sections are provided with a flow rate regulating valve and a flow meter. Alternatively, the end tubes each have a first tubular portion that is straight, and a second tubular portion having a larger inner diameter than and disposed coaxially with the first tubular portion. The inner diameters of the first tubular portions of the end tubes are larger than the corresponding portions of the central tubes. Paper webs having various properties can be made by changing the flow rates of stock flowing through the end tubes with the flow rate regulating valves.
