Herein provided are a polypropylene resin composition which comprises (A) a polypropylene, (B) an ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymeric rubber having a Mooney viscosity, ML.sub.1+4 (100.degree. C.), ranging from 5 to 50 and an iodine value of not less than 15, the content of the component (B) ranging from 10 to 50% by weight on the basis of the total weight of the components (A) and (B), and optionally (C) an inorganic filler in an amount ranging from 0 to 40 parts by weight per 100 parts by weight of the sum of the components (A) and (B); a coating method which comprises the steps of applying a primer coating to a molded product obtained by molding the foregoing polypropylene resin composition or irradiating the molded product with plasma without degreasing and washing the product with a halogen atom-containing organic solvent and then applying a top coat to the product; and a coating method which comprises the steps of degreasing and washing a molded product obtained by molding the foregoing polypropylene resin composition and then applying a top coat to the product without applying a primer coating to the molded product or irradiating the molded product with plasma. The coated film obtained according to the foregoing methods has good bond strength to the molded product.

Polypropylene resin composition and method for coating molded products

A fiber excellent in strength and having an average size of 10,000-0.1 denier can be obtained by extruding a new material composed mainly of a polypropylene having a syndiotactic pentad fraction of 0.7 or more and optionally stretching the resulting extruded material. By using as the raw material a composition consisting of two kinds of polypropylenes each having an intrinsic viscosity .eta..sub.1 or .eta..sub.2, the log(.eta..sub.2 /.eta..sub.1) being more than 0.05 or less than -0.05, and a syndiotactic pentad traction of 0.7 or more at a weight ratio of 95:5-5:95 or a composition consisting of at least 50 parts by weight of a syndiotactic polypropylene having the intrinsic viscosity .eta..sub.1 and a syndiotactic pentad fraction of 0.7 or above and at most 50 parts by weight of an isotactic polypropylene having the intrinsic viscosity .eta..sub.2, the extrudability is improved and the fiber stretching conditions are broadened.

Process of making polyprophylene fibers

A fiber excellent in strength and having an average size of 10,000-0.1 denier can be obtained by extruding a raw material composed mainly of a polypropylene having a syndiotactic pentad fraction of 0.7 or more and optionally stretching the resulting extruded material. By using as the raw material a composition consisting of two kinds of polypropylenes each having an intrinsic viscosity .eta..sub.1 or .eta..sub.2, the log(.eta..sub.2 /.eta..sub.1) being more than 0.05 or less than -0.05, and a syndiotactic pentad fraction of 0.7 or more at a weight ratio of 95:5-5:95 or a composition consisting of at least 50 parts by weight of a syndiotactic polypropylene having the intrinsic viscosity .eta..sub.1 and a syndiotactic pentad fraction of 0.7 or above and at most 50 parts by weight of an isotactic polypropylene having the intrinsic viscosity .eta..sub.2, the extrudability is improved and the fiber stretching conditions are broadened.

Polypropylene fiber and a preparation process thereof

A process for reusing a plastic article having a plastic body and a coating layer is discloses which includes the following steps: peeling the coating layer, formed on the plastic body, away from the plastic body by using a high pressure water jet stream; and pulverizing the plastic body for reuse. Hot water may be also used. Instead of the water, it is possible to use high pressure steam.

Process for reusing plastic articles with coatings

A polypropylene resin composition which comprises (A) 100 parts by weight of polypropylene, (B) 20-50 parts by weight of at least one elastomer selected from an ethylenic elastomer, an hydrogenated styrene-butadiene copolymer and a hydrogenated styrene-isoprene block copolymer, (C) 0.3.about.20 parts by weight of polycarbonatediol having a skeleton of aliphatic carbonate with both terminals being a hydroxyl group and (D) 0.about.50 parts by weight of an inorganic filler. The resin composition can provide a molded article having a good adhesive property to a film applied thereon without pretreatment by a halogen-containing solvent.

Polypropylene resin compositions, coating process for moldings thereof

A coated molded article having good adhesion to a coating film and resistance to gasohol as well as excellent appearance can be obtained by applying a primer coating to the surface of a molded article or irradiating the surface with plasma without applying any washing-treatment with a halogen atom-containing organic solvent and then applying a top coat onto the article, if the molded article is formed from a resin composition comprising (A)a polypropylene; (B)a specific ethylene-propylene-diene terpolymer rubber; (C) a specific ethylene-propylene copolymer rubber; and (D) a specific polyhydroxypolyolefin, the amounts of these components (A) to (D) satisfying the following relations:

A resin composition is herein provided which comprises 100 parts by weight of a polypropylene and 20 to 100 parts by weight of a hydrogenated styrene/butadiene or styrene/isoprene elastomeric block copolymer having a melt index of not less than 25 g/10 min as determined at a temperature of 230.degree. C. and a load of 2.16 kg/cm.sup.2. A method for manufacturing a coated molded article of the resin composition is herein provided and the method comprises the steps of molding said resin composition and then applying a coating directly without any preliminary surface treatment. This method can provide a molded article having low mold shrinkage factor and linear expansion coefficient, makes it possible to reduce the amount of fillers to be incorporated and is thus effective for making the weight of automobiles lighter.

Polypropylene resin composition and method for manufacturing coated

The present invention relates to a polypropylene composition useful as an adhesive comprising a modified polypropylene resin graft-modified with from about 0.01 wt. % to about 2 wt. % of a radical-polymerizable unsaturated compound and a crystalline propylene/ethylene block copolymer containing from about 10 wt. % to about 50 wt. % of a propylene/ethylene random copolymer having an ethylene content of from about 20 wt. % to about 90 wt. %. The resin composition is particularly suitable for bonding a polypropylene resin layer and an ethylene/vinyl alcohol copolymer layer, and a polypropylene resin layer and a polyamide resin layer.

Polypropylene composition

There is provided a polyolefin resin composition for injection molding which comprises adding to polyolefin a condensate of sorbitol with an aldehyde compound and a lubricant of 1/20 to 1/2 parts by weight based on 1.0 part by weight of said condensate. Thereby polyolefin injection moldings with good transparency are obtained without bringing a foaming phenomenon.
