A developing cartridge includes: a casing, a developing roller, a first agitator, a supply roller, and a second agitator. The casing is configured to accommodate toner. The developing roller is rotatable about a developing roller rotation axis extending in a first direction. The first agitator is configured to agitate the toner. The first agitator is rotatable about a first agitator rotation axis extending in the first direction. The supply roller is positioned between the first agitator and the developing roller. The supply roller is rotatable about a supply roller rotation axis extending in the first direction. The second agitator is positioned between the supply roller and the first agitator. The second agitator is rotatable about a second agitator rotation axis extending in the first direction. A rotation locus of the second agitator is positioned outside of a rotation locus of the first agitator.

An image forming apparatus includes: a photosensitive drum; a magnetic roller; a transfer belt; a drum cleaning roller for collecting toner on the photosensitive drum and discharging collected toner to the photosensitive drum; a belt cleaner; a waste toner accommodating unit; and a controller configured to perform a printing operation for forming an image on a sheet and a cleaning operation for cleaning the drum cleaning roller. The controller is configured to perform: when performing the printing operation, collecting toner on the photosensitive drum using the drum cleaning roller; and when performing the cleaning operation, discharging the toner on the drum cleaning roller collected in the collecting to the photosensitive drum; transferring the toner on the photosensitive drum onto the transfer belt; and collecting the toner on the transfer belt using the belt cleaner so that the collected toner is accommodated in the waste toner accommodating unit.

A controller performs a request process to request execution of a density correction process to correct a density of developer, in a case where a toner identification information determination process determines that the toner identification information stored in the toner memory does not match the toner identification information which is stored in the main-body memory in a toner identification information storing process or a drum identification information determination process determines that the drum identification information stored in the drum memory does not match the drum identification information which is stored in the main-body memory in the drum identification information storing process.

When the developing cartridge is attached to a drum cartridge including a photosensitive drum: at a first position of the first cam, the second cam is at a third position and the developing roller and the photosensitive drum contact each other; and at a second position of the first cam, the second cam is at a fourth position and contacts a part of the drum cartridge to move the developing cartridge to separate the developing roller from the photosensitive drum.

There is provided image forming apparatus including: photosensitive member; developing roller configured to supply a developer to the photosensitive member; belt to which a developer image is to be transferred from the photosensitive member; sensor; and controller configured to execute a developing bias correcting process for correcting a developing bias to be applied to the developing roller. The developing bias correcting process includes: a setting process for setting testing biases, all of the testing biases being smaller than an old developing bias; a forming process for forming developer images on the belt by using the testing biases set in the setting process; a detecting process for detecting densities of the developer images formed in the forming process by the sensor; and a calculating process for calculating the developing bias based on the densities of the developer images detected in the detecting process.

The controller conducts a first process, in which, when the cover is moved from an open position to a closed position, the controller drives the first motor to rotate the photosensitive drum without causing rotation of the developing roller; and a second process, in which, after a lapse of a first period since the controller started driving the first motor, the controller drives the second motor to move the contact/separation cam from the first phase to the second phase and move the switching cam from the first phase to the second phase causing the developing roller to be moved from the contacting position to the separated position while the photosensitive drum is rotating.

A development device includes a layer thickness regulating blade including a support sheet metal, a blade rubber section, and a side edge seal, the support sheet metal having a first end portion, a second end portion, and a center portion between the first end portion and the second end portion, in an axial direction of a development roller. In a width direction of the support sheet metal, the first end portion of the support sheet metal in the axial direction is shorter than the center portion of the support sheet metal in the axial direction. In the width direction, a distal-end edge of the first end portion of the support sheet metal is closer to a base end portion of the support sheet metal than a distal-end edge of the blade rubber section.
