An ink set includes a non-white ink composition and a white ink composition, and the non-white ink composition and the white ink composition are each an aqueous ink jet ink. The non-white ink composition contains a silicone-based surfactant A having a maximum peak within a molecular weight range of 3,000 to 20,000 within a molecular weight range of 300 or more in a molecular weight distribution in gel permeation chromatography, and the white ink composition contains a silicone-based surfactant B having a HLB value of 10.5 or less by Griffin method, but not having a maximum peak within a molecular weight range of 3,000 or more within a molecular weight range of 300 or more in a molecular weight distribution in gel permeation chromatography.

Ink set and recording method

A recording method includes: a white ink attachment step of ejecting a white ink composition containing a white coloring material from a white ink jet head and attaching the white ink composition to a recording medium; a non-white ink attachment step of ejecting a non-white ink composition containing a non-white coloring material from a non-white ink jet head and attaching the non-white ink composition to the recording medium; and a primary drying step of heating the white ink composition and the non-white ink composition attached to the recording medium by a drying mechanism. In the white ink attachment step and the non-white ink attachment step, a layer containing the white ink composition and the non-white ink composition is formed by performing main scanning multiple times, in which the ink compositions are ejected and attached to the recording medium, and by attaching the white ink composition and the non-white ink composition to the same scanning region in the recording medium by the same main scanning, while moving a position of an ink jet head relative to the recording medium.

Recording method and recording device

A recording method is a method including an adhesion step of adhering an ink composition to a recording medium, in which the recording medium is a low-absorbing recording medium or a non-absorbing recording medium, the adhesion step is performed by scanning that is carried out by jetting the ink composition from an ink jet head to make the ink composition adhere to the recording medium while moving relative positions of the ink jet head and the recording medium, the scanning is performed seven times or less on an identical region of the recording medium, the ink composition is an aqueous ink containing a coloring material and a silicone-based surfactant A, and a maximum peak of the silicone-based surfactant A in a molecular weight range of 300 or greater is present in a range of 3000 to 20000 in a molecular weight distribution obtained by gel permeation chromatography.

Recording method

A recording apparatus includes a white ink jet head, a non-white ink jet head, and a control section that controls performing recording by performing a main scan a plurality of times in which, while a position of an ink jet head relative to the recording medium is moved, an ink composition is ejected from the ink jet head and is applied to the recording medium. The control section performs recording in a first recording mode in which the white ink composition and the non-white ink composition are applied to the same scan region of the recording medium by the same main scan and recording in a second recording mode in which the white ink composition and the non-white ink composition are applied to the same scan region of the recording medium by different main scans.

Recording apparatus and recording method

An ink jet ink composition of the present disclosure is a water-based ink which includes a colorant; a surfactant; a fixing resin; and an organic solvent, the surfactant includes a silicone-based surfactant having an HLB value of 10.5 or less, the fixing resin includes an acrylic-based resin having a glass transition temperature of 35° C. to 95° C., and the organic solvent includes a 1,2-alkanediol having 4 carbon atoms or less and an alkanediol having diols at both terminals and 3 to 5 carbon atoms.

Ink jet ink composition and recording method

A recording method for recording on a recording medium, which is a non-white recording medium, includes a white ink adhering step of adhering a white ink containing a white coloring material to the recording medium, and a non-white ink adhering step of adhering a non-white ink containing a non-white coloring material to the recording medium, in which the white ink adhering step and the non-white ink adhering step are performed by causing a recording head to scan the recording medium, the white ink adhering step and the non-white ink adhering step are performed on a region of the recording medium by a scan, and the white ink adhering step and the non-white ink adhering step are performed such that, in the region where the white ink and the non-white ink are adhered, the mass ratio (A/B) of an adhesion amount A of the white coloring material to an adhesion amount B of the non-white coloring material per unit area is 0.03 or more and 0.99 or less.

Recording method and ink jet recording apparatus

A ink-jet ink composition according to the present disclosure contains a colorant, water, a 1,2-alkanediol, and a water-soluble 1,3-dioxolane compound represented by the following formula: where Rand Rare independently selected from linear or branched alkyl groups containing one to four carbon atoms and Ris a hydrogen atom or at least one selected from the group consisting of an ethylene oxide adduct, a propylene oxide adduct, and a butylene oxide adduct and is terminated with a hydrogen atom.

Ink-jet ink composition

An ink composition includes water, a resin, a coloring material, an alcohol (A) and a solvent (B). The alcohol (A) has a vapor pressure at 25&#xb0; C. of 0.050 mmHg or greater and a solubility at 25&#xb0; C. in 100 g of water of less than 3 g. The solvent (B) includes at least one selected from the group consisting of glycol ethers having a vapor pressure at 25&#xb0; C. of less than 0.050 mmHg and a solubility at 25&#xb0; C. in 100 g of water of 3 g or greater and alkanediols having a vapor pressure at 25&#xb0; C. of less than 0.050 mmHg and a solubility at 25&#xb0; C. in 100 g of water of 3 g or greater.

Ink composition

An ink composition includes resin particles, one or more surfactants, one or more water-soluble organic solvents, and a glycol ether, where: the surfactants include a fluorosurfactant having a predetermined structure and an HLB value determined by Griffin's method of 11 or less; the water-soluble organic solvents include one or more selected from the group consisting of glycerin, ethylene glycol, diethylene glycol, polyethylene glycol having a weight-average molecular weight of 10,000 or less, 1,3-propanediol, 1,4-butanediol, and diglycerol; and the glycol ether has a predetermined structure and an HLB value determined by Griffin's method of 11 or less.
