A power tool having a rotary hammer mechanism has a motor, a driving mechanism, a tool body that houses the motor and the driving mechanism, a handle having a grip part, and a first operation member. The driving mechanism is configured to operate by power of the motor in an action mode that is selected from a plurality of operation modes including a first mode of at least rotationally driving a tool accessory around a driving axis and a second mode of only linearly driving the tool accessory along the driving axis. The grip part extends in a direction crossing the driving axis and is configured to be held by a user. The first operation member is on the tool body and faces the grip part. The first operation member is configured to be manually operated by the user to change the action mode of the driving mechanism.

Power tool having rotary hammer mechanism

A rotary hammer selectively operates in multiple modes including a first mode and a second mode. The rotary hammer includes a switch, a motor, a switch manipulation member, a locking member, and a mode detecting device. The switch manipulation member includes a body, and a protrusion that is movable between a protruding position and a retracted position. The body houses a solenoid configured to operate based on a detection result of the mode detecting device. The locking member is movable between an unlock position and a lock position where the locking member holds the switch manipulation member in an ON position by abutting the protrusion in the protruding position. The protrusion is integrated with a plunger of the solenoid. The protrusion is configured to be in the protruding position when the present mode is the first mode, and in the retracted position when the present mode is the second mode.

Rotary hammer

An impact tool includes a motor, a driving mechanism, a tool body, an elastically-connected part elastically connected to the tool body to be movable at least in a front-rear direction relative to the tool body, a detecting mechanism configured to detect pressing of a tool accessory against a workpiece, and a control part configured to control driving of the motor based on a detection result of the detecting mechanism. The detecting mechanism includes a movable member that is provided in one of the tool body and the elastically-connected part and configured to be moved by relative movement of the other of the tool body and the elastically-connected part in the front-rear direction, and a detector that is provided in the one of the tool body and the elastically-connected part and configured to detect rearward pressing of the tool accessory by detecting movement of the movable member.

Impact tool

A reciprocating tool includes a motor, a driving mechanism, a body housing, a movable part, and a vibration control mechanism. The driving mechanism includes a reciprocating member configured to reciprocate in a first direction. The movable part is connected to the body housing via a first elastic member and a second elastic member to be relatively movable in the first direction. The vibration control mechanism includes at least one weight configured to move in a direction opposite to the reciprocating member. The center of gravity of the at least one weight is offset from the driving axis in a second direction. In the second direction, the first elastic member is closer to the center of gravity than the second elastic member. A load of the first elastic member when the movable part is placed in a closer position is smaller than a load of the second elastic member.

A dust collection system for a power tool can collect, with an ordinary bit, dust with a flexible hose connected. A dust collection system for a power tool includes a power tool to receive a tip tool protruding frontward and including a tool body, a cylindrical first dust collection attachment attachable to the tool body and covering the tip tool over its entire circumference with the first dust collection attachment being attached, a second dust collection attachment attachable to the tool body and including a dust collector, and a flexible hose to connect the first dust collection attachment and the second dust collection attachment to collect dust sucked through the first dust collection attachment into the dust collector included in the second dust collection attachment.

Dust collection system for power tool

An impact tool includes a switch for driving the tool accessory, an operation member configured to be movable between an OFF position and an ON position, a first lock member configured to lock the operation member in the ON position, a second lock member configured to be movable between a lock position and a lock-release position in response to an external operation by a user, and a holding mechanism configured to hold the second lock member in the lock position and also in the lock-release position. The second lock member in the lock position is capable of locking the operation member in the OFF position, and the second lock member in the lock-release position is incapable of locking the operation member in the OFF position.

A work tool, in which any one of a plurality of operation modes is selectable and which is configured to operate according to the selected operation mode, includes a switch for driving a tool accessory, an operation member, a mode switching member and a movement restricting mechanism. The operation member is configured to be held in an off-position in a non-pressed state and configured to move to an on-position in response to an external pressing operation. The mode switching member is configured to be switched between a plurality of switching positions in response to an external operation, the switching positions respectively corresponding to the operation modes. The movement restricting mechanism is configured to restrict a movement of the operation member from the off-position to the on-position in interlock with a switching operation of the mode switching member.

Work tool

A power tool, such as a rotary hammer or hammer drill, includes a first housing that contains a motor and a drive mechanism for linearly reciprocally driving a tool accessory, and a second housing that includes a handle, a first portion and a second portion. At least one elastic element connects the first and second housings such that the handle is biased away from the first housing. A first set of sliding contact surfaces is defined on or connected to the first housing and the first portion of the second housing. A second set of sliding contact surfaces is defined on or connected to the first housing and the second portion of the second housing. The first and second sets of sliding contact surfaces are located on opposite sides of the motor such that the rotational axis of the motor intersects the first and second sets of sliding contact surfaces.

A power tool includes a motor, a housing, a battery mounting part, and a battery protection part. The battery mounting part is provided to the housing on an opposite side from a working axis across the motor in an extending direction of a rotation axis of the motor. The battery mounting part is configured such that one end portion of at least one battery is mounted to the battery mounting part and an opposite end portion of the at least one battery in the extending direction of the rotation axis is exposed from the housing. A power tool includes a motor, a driving mechanism, a body housing, a handle, and a rear position defining member. The driving mechanism is driven by the motor and configured to drive a tool bit in a longitudinal direction. The body housing houses the motor and the driving mechanism. The handle is connected to the body housing so as to be allowed to move with respect to the body housing between a front position and a rear position in the longitudinal direction, while being biased by a biasing member in the longitudinal direction. The handle includes a handle base and a handle cover. The rear position defining member extends from the body housing to a position between the handle base and the handle cover in the longitudinal direction and is configured to define a rear position of the handle.

The representative impact tool has a motor, a driving mechanism, a body housing and a handle, and part of the motor and part of the handle are disposed on an axis of a tool accessory. The impact tool has an outer housing that is disposed to cover the outside of the body housing and connected to the body housing via an elastic element so as to be allowed to move with respect to the body housing in an axial direction of the tool accessory, and the handle is integrally connected to the outer housing. The body housing has an exposed region in which at least part of a region of the body housing corresponding to at least one of the motor and the driving mechanism, is not covered by the outer housing.
