In a sheet feeding device, when a multi tray is overlaid on a sheet cassette, a rib on the front-end portion of the multi tray is fitted in an engaging slit in the upper edge of a sidewall of the sheet cassette, and protrudes from the sidewall of the sheet cassette. When the sheet cassette and the multi tray overlaid thereon are inserted into an apparatus main body, a boss on the sidewall of the sheet cassette is pressed against a positioning member on an inner wall of the apparatus main body, via the rib protruding outward from the sidewall of the sheet cassette, so that the multi tray and the sheet cassette are set in position.

An image forming apparatus includes: a main body frame; a process unit which is removably fitted in a first direction; a pressing member which presses the process unit in a second direction; and a restriction member which restricts the displacement of the process unit. The process unit includes a restriction plate which protrudes downward from the unit frame. The restriction member includes a pair of sandwiching surfaces which sandwich the restriction plate in the second direction. The process unit is fitted and is pressed by the pressing member such that the restriction plate abuts against the sandwiching surface to restrict the displacement of the process unit.

Image forming apparatus

An image forming apparatus includes a first sheet cassette, a first transport route, an image forming device, and a second transport route. The first sheet cassette is for storing therein a sheet. Along the first transport route, the sheet delivered from the first sheet cassette is transported. The image forming device forms an image based on image data, on the sheet transported along the first transport route. The second transport route communicates with outside of the image forming apparatus, and a sheet inserted by a user from outside is transported along the second transport route, to the image forming device. The second transport route is formed so as to circumvent a region between the image forming device and the first sheet cassette.

An image forming apparatus includes a housing, an attachable and detachable device, a cover member, and a rotation angle restricting member. The housing has an opening and an attachment section. The attachable and detachable device is attachable to and detachable from an inside of the housing via the opening. The cover member is rotatably supported by the housing and closes or opens the opening. The rotation angle restricting member restricts an allowable rotation angle that indicates an angle at which the cover member is rotatable. The rotation angle restricting member is attachable to and detachable from the attachment section. The allowable rotation angle of the cover member is restricted when the rotation angle restricting member is attached to the attachment section. Restriction of the allowable rotation angle of the cover member is released when the rotation angle restricting member is detached from the attachment section.

A cleaning device includes a cleaning portion, a polishing roller, a layer thickness restricting member, and a swaying portion. The cleaning portion removes toner that has adhered to a surface of a rotation body. The polishing roller polishes a surface of the rotation body by rotating in a state where a surface of the polishing roller is in contact with the surface of the rotation body and the toner removed by the cleaning portion has adhered to the surface of the polishing roller. The layer thickness restricting member restricts a layer thickness of the toner that has adhered to the surface of the polishing roller. The swaying portion includes a biasing portion, an undulating portion and a support portion, and causes the polishing roller to sway in an axis direction of the rotation body.

A static eliminating device includes a light emitting part and an optical path providing part. The light emitting part emits a static eliminating light to a surface of an image carrier. The optical path providing part includes a reflecting face reflecting the static eliminating light and a radiation end from which the static eliminating light is radiated to the surface of the image carrier. The reflecting face is a matted face.
