A bone conduction microphone includes a housing having an opening, a microphone pad, an element support member, a piezoelectric element, and a drive plate. The microphone pad is formed in a bottomed tubular shape having a bottom portion disposed outward and a tubular portion with an outer circumference fixed to an inner circumference of the opening. The element support member has an outer circumference fixed to an inner circumference of the tubular portion, and a support portion projecting toward the bottom portion. The piezoelectric element is in a plate shape with a peripheral edge of one surface fixed to the support portion and picks up vibration. The drive plate has a diaphragm part fixed to an inward surface of the bottom portion, and the diaphragm part is provided at a center with a protrusion fixed to an element central portion on another surface of the piezoelectric element.

Motion vector estimation apparatus and motion vector estimation method

In order to improve the accuracy of a code amount estimated by using a predictive residual when coding at a low data rate, an encoder is utilized to perform picture coding processing on a picture to be coded which is an input signal, by using a technique such as H.264. Specifically, a code amount predictor predicts the code amount on the basis of an evaluation value obtained by predictive-residual code amount evaluation value generating unit, a coding-condition code amount evaluation value generating unit, and a motion-vector-information code amount evaluation value generating unit. The predicted code amount is used for controlling coding in the encoder.

Picture coding apparatus

An intra prediction apparatus includes: a candidate narrowing-down unit which narrows down, from a plurality of intra prediction directions, an intra prediction direction candidate which is applied to a block of multiple pixels that constitutes a video in accordance with a characteristic of the video; and an intra prediction execution unit which executes intra prediction in the intra prediction direction narrowed down by said candidate narrowing-down unit. A coding method conversion apparatus converts the first coded data coded by the first coding method into the second coded data. The coding method conversion apparatus includes: an H.264 decoder which decodes the first coded data; a deblocking filter strength calculation unit which calculates a filter strength of deblocking filtering of a second coding method, using at least one piece of decoding information except a coding type of the first coded data, the decoding information being obtained by decoding the first coded data; and a deblocking filter which performs the deblocking filtering to reduce noise in a boundary of blocks according to the filter strength calculated by the deblocking filter strength calculation unit.

Coding method conversion apparatus

An image coding apparatus executes intra-frame prediction with a predetermined intra-frame prediction mode for a certain block. A block selection unit judges that the current block to be coded is a prediction error calculation block or a non-prediction error calculation block. In the case where the current block is a prediction error calculation block, a mode error value calculation unit calculates the prediction error by the sum of absolute differences and for all of the intra-frame prediction modes, an inter-mode comparison unit compares the prediction errors, and as a result of the comparison, an intra-frame prediction mode having the minimum prediction errors is determined as the intra-frame prediction mode. In the case where the current block is a non-prediction error calculation block, the prediction error is not calculated. As an alternative, a prediction mode estimation unit determines the intra-frame prediction mode based on the neighboring prediction mode information stored in a storage unit.

Image coding apparatus and image coding method

The present invention provides a video encoding device in which a capacity of a binary data storing unit is small, a size of the video encoding device is small, a video signal can be processed in real time, and reduction in quality of images generated from the eventually obtained data can be prevented. The video encoding device according to the present invention includes: a video encoding unit which encodes a video signal; a binarization unit which binarizes an encoded value obtained from the video encoding unit; and an entropy encoding unit which subjects entropy encoding to binary data obtained from the binarization unit. Here, the video encoding unit encodes the video signal based on a characteristic of the binarization performed by the binarization unit, so that an amount of binary data obtained from the binarization unit by binarizing the encoded value that is encoded based on the characteristic is less than an amount of binary data obtained by binarizing an encoded value that is encoded without being based on the characteristic.

The coding apparatus according to the present invention is a coding apparatus which codes data regarding a moving picture, and includes: a DCT coefficient advanced-coding unit which performs advanced-coding on multivalued data representing a quantized DCT coefficient or a motion vector, so as to reduce the bit length of binary data obtained by binarizing the multivalued data; an advanced-coded coefficient/binary coefficient conversion unit which converts the advanced-coded data obtained by the DCT coefficient advanced-coding unit into the binary data; and an arithmetic coding unit which performs arithmetic coding on the binary data obtained by the advanced-coded coefficient/binary coefficient conversion unit.
