An applicator is provided with a container containing an application liquid, an inner plug arranged to close the mouth of the container and opens the valve against the biasing force of a spring member to allow the application liquid in the container to be discharged, and the application member arranged to cover an application liquid outlet of the inner plug and enable the application to the application surface by exuding the application liquid discharged through the inner plug. The application unit with the inner plug has a liquid flow passage that provides a flow resistance to the application liquid from inside the container to the application unit, and the total pressure loss per 1 m/s in the liquid flow passage is equal to or more than 1×10Pa·s and less than 1×10Pa·s or less.

A mechanical pencil which is configured so that a rotatable cam is rotationally driven with an axis of the rotatable cam relative to a holder member stabled, and smooth operation of a rotational drive mechanism is ensured. The mechanical pencil includes a rotational drive mechanism for driving rotationally a rotatable cam according to writing pressure applied to a writing lead, and transfer rotational motion of the rotatable cam to the writing lead. The rotational drive mechanism includes a holder member supporting the rotatable cam so as to be rotatable, a first fixed cam formed with a funnel-shaped inclined surface Fu and a second fixed cam formed at an obtuse angle &#x3b1; relative to an axial direction. Cam faces of an upper cam and a lower cam alternately meshing with the first and second fixed cams are formed along a conical inclined surface Cs.

Mechanical pencil

Provided is a writing instrument or an applicator using resin parts formed, by way of two-color molding, to have an optimal guiding clearance between slide members. A plurality of resin molded parts is included. At least one of the plurality of resin molded parts is formed as a primary molding, and at least another one of the resin molded parts is formed as a secondary molding, by way of two-color molding, using a portion of a surface of the primary molding. The primary molding and the secondary molding are separated to be used as independent members. In this case, the primary molding and the secondary molding are preferably configured to slide against each other by each separating portion.

Writing instrument or applicator having resin molded parts

A mechanical pencil is provided which does not require operation of removing or re-fitting a cap but allows writing immediately after supplying a writing lead. A lead fixing chuckwhich is moved back and forth in conjunction with knock operation of a knock barto release and grip the writing lead L, and a holder chuckwhich is provided in front of the lead fixing chuck and holds the writing lead frictionally are arranged such that the writing lead can be gradually inched out by repeating the knock operation. An open/close mechanism having an open/close valveis provided in which a writing lead feeding unit is opened in a situation where the grip of the lead fixing chuckon the writing lead is released by the knock operation, and the holder chuckis disposed proximate to a writing lead outlet.

An applicator constructed such that when the user clicks a rear end of an inner barrel, a valve mechanism is actuated by moving the inner barrel relative to an outer barrel, whereby an application liquid is supplied to an applying element arranged at a front end part of the outer barrel, and that when a valve seat member and a valve rod member move relatively to each other, the valve mechanism can take a first state in which a piston portion on the front side of the valve rod member comes into sliding contact with a front-side liquid-tight portion inside the valve seat member, a second state in which both of the piston portion on the front side of the valve rod member and piston portion on the rear side of valve rod member do not come in sliding contact with the corresponding liquid-tight portions inside the valve seat member, and a third state in which the piston portion on the rear side of the valve rod member comes into sliding contact with the rear-side liquid-tight portion.
