A piston compressor includes a housing, a drive shaft, a fixed swash plate, a plurality of pistons, a movable body, and a control valve. The housing includes a cylinder block having a plurality of cylinder bores and a plurality of first communication passages. The movable body has a second communication passage that intermittently communicates with each of the first communication passages by rotation of the drive shaft. A flow rate of refrigerant discharged from a compression chamber into a discharge chamber changes according to a position of the movable body in a direction of an axis of the drive shaft. The control valve is configured to control a control pressure. The first communication passages are connected to the second communication passage by the movable body and disconnected from the second communication passage by the drive shaft.

Piston compressor

A compressor includes a swash plate rotated with a drive shaft in a swash plate chamber, a link mechanism that changes an inclination angle of the swash plate, an actuator rotated integrally with the drive shaft, and an actuator control mechanism. The actuator includes a partitioning body fitted to the drive shaft in the swash plate chamber, a movable body that is coupled to the swash plate and moved relative to the partitioning body along the axis of the drive shaft, and a control pressure chamber, the pressure of which moves the movable body. The control mechanism changes the pressure of the control pressure chamber to move the movable body. The swash plate includes a fulcrum point, coupled to the link mechanism, and an action point, coupled to the movable body. The fulcrum point and the action point are located at opposite sides of the drive shaft.

A swash plate type variable displacement compressor includes a housing in which a suction chamber, a discharge chamber, a swash plate chamber, and a cylinder bore are formed, a drive shaft, a swash plate, an actuator, and a control mechanism that controls the actuator. A pressure regulation chamber is formed in the housing. The actuator includes a control pressure chamber. The control mechanism includes a control passage that connects together the discharge chamber, the pressure regulation chamber, and the control pressure chamber, and a control valve that, by adjusting the degree of opening of the control passage, changes the pressure in the control pressure chamber to allow the movable body to move. Refrigerant in the discharge chamber flows into the control pressure chamber via the pressure regulation chamber. The pressure regulation chamber functions as a muffler that reduces the pulsation of the refrigerant.

Swash plate type variable displacement compressor

An actuator of a compressor includes a partitioning body, which is rotatable integrally with a drive shaft and loosely fitted to the drive shaft in the swash plate chamber, a movable body, which is coupled to a swash plate and movable relative to the partitioning body along the axis of the drive shaft, and a control pressure chamber, the pressure of which moves the movable body. A control mechanism changes the pressure of the control pressure chamber to move the movable body. A link mechanism shifts a top dead center of a first head of a piston over a longer distance than a top dead center of a second head of the piston when the inclination angle of the swash plate changes. The actuator is located at the same side as the first cylinder bore, which accommodates the first head, as viewed from the swash plate.

Variable displacement swash plate compressor

A swash plate type variable displacement compressor includes a housing having therein a suction chamber, a discharge chamber a swash plate chamber and a cylinder bore. The compressor further includes a drive shaft, a swash plate and a link mechanism provided between the drive shaft and the swash plate. The compressor further includes a piston, a conversion mechanism, an actuator and a control mechanism. The actuator includes a partitioning member and a moving member, and a pressure control chamber formed therebetween. A support member is fitted on the drive shaft, and the contact of the support member with the moving member determines maximum inclination angle of the swash plate. A thrust bearing supports a thrust force. The support member includes a cylindrical portion that projects beyond the one end of the drive shaft. The position of the cylindrical portion is adjustable in the direction of the drive shaft.

A variable displacement swash plate type compressor includes a rotary shaft, a swash plate, and an actuator, which changes the inclination angle of the swash plate. The actuator includes a partition body and a movable body, which moves in a direction along the rotational axis of the rotary shaft. The movable body includes a guide surface, which changes the inclination angle of the swash plate, and a sliding portion, which slides on the rotary shaft or on the partition body. When viewed from a direction that is perpendicular to the direction in which the rotational axis of the rotary shaft extends and perpendicular to a first direction, the guide surface is configured such that a perpendicular line or a normal line to the guide surface intersects with the rotational axis of the rotary shaft in a zone surrounded by the sliding portion.

Variable displacement swash-plate compressor

A double-headed piston swash plate type compressor includes a rotary shaft, a drive force transmitting member, a tiltable swash plate, a movable body that changes the inclination angle of the swash plate, and a control pressure chamber defined by the movable body and the drive force transmitting member, which are arranged on one side with respect to the swash plate in the axial direction of the rotary shaft. The movable body includes a bottom portion, through which the rotary shaft extends, and a cylindrical portion, which extends from the bottom portion in the axial direction of the rotary shaft to surround the rotary shaft. The cylindrical portion is permitted to move in the axial direction while sliding along a part of the drive force transmitting member, so that the inclination angle of the swash plate is changed in accordance with the internal pressure of the control pressure chamber.

Compressor with drive and tilt mechanisms located on the same side of a swash plate

A variable displacement swash compressor includes a housing, a drive shaft, a swash plate, a link mechanism, pistons, a conversion mechanism, an actuator, and a control mechanism. The housing includes a suction chamber, a discharge chamber, a swash plate chamber, and cylinder bores. The control mechanism controls the actuator. The actuator includes a partitioning body, a movable body, and a control pressure chamber. At least one of the suction chamber and the swash plate chamber is a low pressure chamber. The control mechanism includes a control passage, which connects the control pressure chamber, the low pressure chamber, and the discharge chamber, and a control valve, which adjusts the open degree of the control passage. The control passage is partially formed in the drive shaft. The movable body increases the inclination angle of the swash plate when the pressure of the control pressure chamber increases.

A variable displacement swash compressor includes a housing, a drive shaft, a swash plate, a link mechanism, a piston, a conversion mechanism, an actuator, and a control mechanism. The swash plate is rotatable together with the drive shaft in a swash plate chamber. The conversion mechanism reciprocates the piston in a cylinder bore. The actuator is operative to change the inclination angle of the swash plate. The actuator is rotatable integrally with the drive shaft. The actuator includes a partitioning body, a movable body, and a control pressure chamber. The control mechanism changes the pressure of the control pressure chamber to move the movable body. The movable body and the link mechanism are located at opposite sides of the swash plate.

A variable displacement swash plate type compressor includes a rotary shaft, a swash plate, and an actuator. The actuator includes a partition body, a movable body, and a coupling member located radially outward of the rotary shaft of the swash plate. The movable body has a guide surface for changing the inclination angle of the swash plate and a sliding portion that slides on the rotary shaft or the partition body. When viewed in a direction that is perpendicular to a direction in which the rotational axis of the rotary shaft extends and perpendicular to a first direction, the guide surface has a curved shape that is configured such that a normal of the guide surface and the rotational axis of the rotary shaft intersect in a zone surrounded by the sliding portion in the entire range of change in the inclination angle.

Variable displacement swash plate type compressor

A swash plate type variable displacement compressor includes, a housing, a swash plate disposed in the housing and having therethrough an insertion hole, a rotary shaft inserted through the insertion hole of the swash plate, a plurality of pistons engaged with the swash plate, and a connecting member disposed between the rotary shaft and the swash plate and connecting the rotary shaft and the swash plate so as to change inclination angle of the swash plate relative to the rotary shaft. A pair of projections are provided in the insertion hole so as to extend toward the rotary shaft and restrict the movement of the swash plate relative to the rotary shaft. The paired projections are spaced away from each other so as not to be in contact with the rotary shaft simultaneously.

A double-headed piston type swash plate compressor includes first and second cylinder blocks, a rotation shaft, a double-headed piston, a crank chamber, a drive force transmission member, a swash plate, a movable body, a control pressure chamber, and a support. The control pressure chamber is defined by the movable body in the housing. The control pressure chamber moves the movable body in the axial direction of the rotation shaft. The support is located on the swash plate and supported by the rotation shaft. The drive force transmission member and the movable body are located at a first side of the swash plate in the axial direction of the rotation shaft, and the support is located at a second side of the swash plate. The drive force transmission member, the movable body, and the support set the inclination angle of the swash plate relative to the rotation shaft.

Double-headed piston type swash plate compressor

A fourth pin that slides on a rotary shaft is provided to a swash plate. A guiding surface for guiding the fourth pin is provided to the rotary shaft. The fourth pin is guided by the guiding surface, the swash plate is supported by the rotary shaft via the fourth pin, and a force having a component in a direction orthogonal to the direction of movement of a movable body acting on the swash plate is thereby reduced. Accordingly, there is a reduction in the force, which has a component in a direction orthogonal to the direction of movement of the movable body, acting on a coupling section of the movable body via a third pin from the swash plate. As a result, when the inclination of the swash plate is changed, unwanted tilting of the movable body relative to the direction of movement is suppressed.

A double-headed piston type swash plate compressor includes a swash plate, a double-headed piston, a control pressure chamber, a discharge pressure region, a suction pressure region, a supplying passage, which extends from the discharge pressure region to the control pressure chamber, a narrowing portion, which narrows an opening degree of the supplying passage, and a displacement control valve. The displacement control valve controls a pressure in the control pressure chamber. The displacement control valve includes a driving force transmission rod, a valve chamber, a guide wall, and a back pressure chamber. The back pressure chamber is in communication with the valve chamber through a clearance between the guide wall and the driving force transmission rod. The narrowing portion has a passage cross-sectional area that is larger than a passage cross-sectional area of the clearance.
