A living thing nurturing device for nurturing plants which absorb carbon dioxide and produce oxygen and funguses or fish produce oxygen and produce carbon dioxide comprises a first air-tight receptacle for the nurturing plants and a second air-tight receptacle for nurturing the funguses or fish. Air in the first air-tight receptacle containing a sufficient amount of oxygen is supplied into the second air-tight receptacle and air in the second air-tight receptacle containing a sufficient amount of carbon dioxide is supplied into the first air-tight receptacle. A water tank is installed in the first air-tight receptacle and the temperature of water contained in the water tank is controlled at a value a little lower than the temperature suitable for nurturing the plants, and air containing a sufficient amount of carbon dioxide emitted from the second air-tight receptacle is supplied through the water tank into the first air-tight receptacle. Other water tank is installed in the second air-tight receptacle and the temperature of water contained in the another water tank is controlled at a value higher than the temperature suitable for nurturing the funguses, and air containing a sufficient amount of oxygen emitted from the first air-tight receptacle is supplied through the other water tank into the second air-tight receptacle.

A light distribution device has a first light-guiding cable for transmitting light rays, a number of second light-guiding cables having light-receiving ends arranged together to form a light-receiving ring plane, a driving means for rotating the light-emitting end of the first light-guiding cable around the light-receiving ring-plane, a light coupler secured at the light-emitting end of the first light-guiding cable. The light coupler has a surface similar to that of a part composing the light-receiving ring-plane of the second light-guiding cables and makes a circular motion along the light-receiving ring-plane at a constant relation thereto.

A light distribution device has a first light-guide cable for transmitting light rays, a number of second light-guide cables having light-receiving ends arranged together to form a light-receiving ring plane, a driving means for rotating the light-emitting end of the first light-guiding cable around the light-receiving ring-plane, a light coupler secured at the light-emitting end of the first light-guide cable. The light coupler has a surface similar to that of a part composing the light-receiving ring-plane of the second light-guide cables and makes a circular motion along the light-receiving ring-plane at a constant relation thereto. The light-receiving ring facing to the light coupler is divided into a plurality of blocks, each of which consists of a given number of secondary light-guide cables.

Apparatus for cultivating aquatic living things in sea water includes a column vertically installed in water, a solar ray collecting device mounted on the column, a light radiator movably attached to the column and a light guide for transmitting therethrough solar rays from the solar ray collecting device into the light radiator. The radiator is capable of changing its position for radiating aquatic living things such as marine growth or the like according to its increased size due to growth and according to its movement in the sea.

Apparatus for cultivating aquatic living things in sea water

A solar ray device for illumination is disclosed. The device comprises a solar ray collecting device and an illuminator. The solar ray collecting device has a plurality of optical lenses for focusing solar rays, a plurality of light-guiding cables with their light-receiving ends disposed at the focal points of the optical lenses, and a sensor for detecting the direction of the sun's rays and for creating a control signal causing the optical lenses to be directed toward the sun and thereby introducing the sun's ray into the light-guiding cables. The illuminator receives the light rays transmitted through the light-guiding cables and radiates the same through its lenses disposed opposite the light-emitting ends of the light-guiding cables.

A disaster prevention system for underground spaces has a compressed air supply system and an independent power generator installed in an underground space. In the event of a disaster, the compressed air supply system discharges compressed air into an underground space in order to maintain the air pressure therein at a higher level than that of the external atmosphere. A light radiator includes a semitransparent tubular container, a large number of transparent plates arranged in series inside of said tubular container in such a way as to be inclined in the same direction as the axis of said container, a light-guiding, cable-connecting portion provided at one end of the container to connect thereto the output end of a light-guiding cable, a lens inserted between the light-guiding, cable-connecting portion and the transparent plate and a motor for rotating the tubular container. (1) A light radiation stand for holding a fiber optic cable which transmits light rays therethrough and emits the same from its light-emitting end is described. The light radiation stand has a pole removably mounted to the stand and a mirror rotatably mounted on said pole. The mirror has a concave surface on one side and a convex surface on the other side. Furthermore a plane mirror is rotatably mounted on the middle portion of the pole.

A solar-ray energy radiation device for medical application comprises a transparent or semi-transparent cylindrical member, a cover-member for closing off one end of the cylindrical member, and an optical conductor cable having a light-ray emitting end disposed at approximately the central portion of the cover-member. The solar-ray energy transmitted through the optical conductor cable is emitted from the light-ray emitting end into the cylindrical member. An open-ended side of the cylindrical member is placed in such a way as to emit solar-ray energy onto a place needing medical treatment. A light radiator for use in the cultivation of fish is described. The device includes a light guide for introducing light rays therein through its end portion and emits the same through its peripheral surface, a first-transparent container for hermetically accommodating therein the light guide and a second semitransparent container for hermetically accommodating therein the first transparent container. The second container is placed in water so as to outwardly project the light through the semi-transparent container.

A light reflecting device capable of independently or synthetically using light rays delivered by at least two light-guide cables and of selectively changing the amount of light rays in accordance with the conditions of the object to be radiated, is described. The device has a pair of light-reflecting plates disposed symmetrically about the center axis and facing in opposite directions. Each of the plates are inclinably, rotatably and integrally mounted. Futhermore the device has a driving means for moving the pair of reflecting plates back and forth in the direction of their reflecting surfaces and a pair of mounting means for mounting the corresponding light sources for radiating parallel light rays toward the corresponding reflecting surfaces of the reflecting plates and along the reflecting plates' shifting axis.

A solar ray collecting device including a supporting rod supported at its lower end by a rotating mechanism and carrying in its upper portion a horizontal supporting shaft is described. The supporting shaft intersects the supporting rod at a right angle and rotatably supports the mounting plates having a large number of solar ray collecting elements arranged thereon. A larger part of the solar ray collecting elements are mounted on a front mounting plate positioned in front of the supporting rod and the supporting shaft and the rest of the solar collecting elements are mounted on a mounting plate positioned behind the supporting rod and the supporting shaft. A light radiation device for use in medical treatment is disclosed. The device comprises a fiber optic cable, a light radiator and a holding pipe. The fiber optic cable transmits therethrough visible light rays and radiates the same from its end surface. The light radiator has a number of densely bundled tapered columns placed opposite the end surface of the fiber optic cable, each column consisting of a plurality of optical conductors. The holding pipe holds the light-radiating end of the fiber optic cable at one end and a light-receiving end of the light radiator at the other end so as to allow the light to pass therethrough and enter into the light radiator.

A hexagonal-shaped chamber for taking a light bath has inner reflecting mirror surfaces and a plurality of light guides for radiating visible light rays into the chamber. One of the six side walls of the chamber is constructed as a door to be opened and closed. Some of the light guides are connected at their light-emitting ends to the other walls of the chamber at different levels so as to emit the light rays toward the inner opposite reflecting surfaces of the chamber. The remaining light guides are connected at their light-emitting ends to the top surface of the chamber so as to emit the light rays from their ends towards the inner bottom surface of the chamber.
