A rolling contact bearing assembly comprises an inner race member adapted to be mounted on a rotatable element and including a spacer disposed axially adjacent the inner race. This inner race member is formed with a lubricant reservoir for accommodating a lubricant and a lubricant flow passage communicating the reservoir with a space defined between the inner and outer race, in which space rolling elements are accommodated. At least a portion of said lubricant flow passage is defined by minute interstices which are formed by surface roughness left by surface roughening at an interface between mutual contact faces of a plurality of component parts forming the inner race member.

An auto-tensioner for a belt has a cylindrical body having a bottom. A nut formed with female threads on its inner periphery and having a rod integrally formed at one end is slidably mounted in the body. A bolt is mounted in the body so that its male threads will engage the female threads on the nut. A belt loading spring is mounted between the nut and the bottom of the body to urge the nut in such a direction as to increase the tension to the belt. A bolt turning spring is mounted between the nut and the bolt to urge and turn the bolt in such a direction as to be pressed against the bottom of the body or in a direction away from the nut. Thus the nut and the bolt are moved either toward or away from each other according to the load from the belt which acts on the rod so as to automatically adjust the tension to the belt.

A tripod type homokinetic universal joint which has a tripod member formed with three trunnions, an outer member formed with three track grooves to receive the trunnions, and a cylindrical roller mounted on each trunnion. Each track groove has a pair of roller guide surfaces which are flat and parallel to a plane including the axis of the outer member and the center of the track groove. A ring is interposed between each cylindrical roller and each trunnion and is supported so as to be turnable around an axis which is perpendicular to the axis of the trunnion and parallel to the axis of the tripod member.

A tripod type homokinetic universal joint which comprises an outer member, a tripod member, and bearing assemblies interposed between the outer member and the tripod member. Each bearing assembly has a plurality of rows of rollers adapted to roll on rolling guide surfaces on track grooves formed in the inner wall of the outer member. The rolling guide surface is defined by side faces of the track groove and near-corner portions of the base of the track groove. The side faces are so oblique that the track groove will be narrowed toward its inlet. Whereby the rollers cannot get off the rolling guide surface even if no shoulders are formed on the side faces of the track groove.

An air/fuel ratio compensating device is provided for association with an internal combustion engine having a fuel control valve, air suction pipe means and pedal accelerator means, the compensating device including an area flow metal system made up of a flow detection valve positioned upstream in the air suction pipe means and operatively associated with the fuel control valve, a flow control valve positioned downstream in the air suction pipe means in series with the flow detection valve and being operatively connected to the accelerator pedal means, the area flow meter system enabling the difference in pressure existing on opposite sides of the flow detection valve to be maintained at a predetermined value to insure that the amount of air flow is proportional to the opening area of the flow detection valve thus permitting a determination of the amount of air flow on the basis of the opened area of the flow detection valve, a feedback control mechanism for controlling the area control flow meter and including pressure sensitive amplifier means to detect and amplify the deviation of the difference in pressure, valve opening means connected to the amplifier means and operatively associated with the flow detecting valve for opening and closing the flow detection valve by the output from the amplifier means, and compensating means for compensating for the set value placed in the pressure sensitive amplifier means according to the operating conditions of the internal combustion engine.

A fuel flow rate measuring device comprising a control rod axially movable in proportion to the rate of flow of air flowing through a suction pipe, a ball disposed in a taper bore and adapted to be moved in the taper bore by the control rod, the taper bore and the ball cooperating with each other to define a clearance which is variable in proportion to the rate of flow of the air, and a pressure regulator provided between a fluid inlet and outlet for keeping constant the fluid pressure difference across the clearance defined by the taper bore and ball.

Fuel flow rate measuring device

A fuel injection device adapted to control the amount of injection by the opening time and opening area of a gate which is disposed in a fuel feed passage and which is controlled in connection with the engine rpm and the amount of suction air. The fuel injection device is characterized in that a choke is disposed between the fuel distributing port of a fuel measuring and distributing mechanism and the valve of an automatic valve type fuel injector, whereby the rate of flow and hence the rise time of pressure pulses applied to the injection valve are controlled to provide an accurate amount of injection.

There is disclosed a fuel injection valve for internal combustion engines, which is used in combination with a fuel injection device for intermittent injection of fuel and which comprises a main body having a passageway extending between a fuel inlet and a fuel outlet, a valve member which cooperates with a valve seat disposed in the outlet and which is movable between a closed position and a fully open position in response to the pressure of the fuel fed into the passageway, the valve member being made up of a shaft member and a valve head, and is manufactured in such a way that a valve head made of a steel ball is welded by an instantaneous current passage welding process to one end of the shaft member and that the steel ball is cut perpendicularly to the axis on a smaller circle toward the shaft member than the equator of the steel ball so as to form an edge where the fuel jet flares.

Method for manufacturing a fuel injection valve

A fuel feeding apparatus for internal combustion engines comprises an area type air flow rate measuring section in which the air flow rate is dependent on the displacement of an air flow rate detecting valve, and a fuel flow rate measuring and distributing section in which a variable orifice defined by a rotor and a stator determines the fuel flow rate proportional to the air flow rate. This apparatus is characterized by the provision of an exhaust gas sensor disposed in the exhaust pipe for the detection of the oxygen concentration of the exhaust gas in order to achieve the complete combustion of fuel in the internal combustion engine, the output signal from the exhaust gas sensor being used to compensate the fuel feeding pressure and a spring force which acts on the pressure difference setting diaphragm of a servo-mechanism.

Apparatus for controlling the air fuel mixture of an internal combustion

An area type flow rate measuring device comprising an upstream valve and a downstream valve which are disposed in a channel for a fluid, a feedback control mechanism for keeping the pressure difference across the upstream valve constant, the rate of flow of the fluid being measured on the basis of the area of opening of the upstream valve, a pipeline which bypasses the upstream valve, and a mechanism disposed in the bypass pipeline for amplifying the pressure difference by utilizing the flow of the fluid, the arrangement being such that the pressure produced in the mechanism is utilized to drive a valve opening mechanism.

Area type flow rate measuring device

A continuously operable fuel injection device comprises a sleeve having a substantially triangular measuring window communicating with the outlet port of a main body, the sleeve being inserted in the cavity of the main body, and a control spool having an annular groove communicating with the inlet port of the main body through an axially extending hole and axially slidably inserted in the sleeve, the substantially triangular measuring window cooperating with the annular groove of the control sleeve to form a variable orifice. By axially sliding the control spool, any desired flow rate can be obtained.

Continuously operable fuel injection device

A fuel injection device is disposed in a fuel supply passageway and adapted to control the amount of injection by controlling the opening time and/or opening area of a gate controlled in connection with engine rpm and the amount of suction air. The difference between the fuel supply pressure and the negative pressure in a suction pipe is maintained constant by a pressure regulator. The device contains a mechanism for compensating fuel supply pressure according to fuel temperature.
