A digital broadcast receiving apparatus which enables simple programming for receiving a digital television broadcast and/or a radio broadcast. The digital broadcast receiving apparatus includes: a broadcast receiving unit receiving a digital broadcast; an extraction unit extracting a service description table from the received digital broadcast; an identification unit identifying, from the extracted service description table, transport stream identification information, network identification information, and service identification information, as stream identification information; and a transmission unit transmitting, to a recording apparatus, the identified stream identification information and a recording command.

Digital broadcast receiving apparatus, recording apparatus, method and system

The present invention sufficiently reduces unwanted radiation in a plasma display panel (PDP) display device. The display device includes a PDP having a pair of electrodes, a first, a second, and a third conductive member, and a pair of driving circuits used to apply a voltage to their respective electrodes. Each conductive member has substantially the same width and height as the PDP, and the first, second, third conductive members are disposed on the rear surface of the PDP, in this order on the rear side of the PDP. The PDP and the conductive members are connected electrically to one another in the end portions of these elements, either directly or via the driving circuits, so that the direction of the current flowing in the PDP during driving and discharge coincides with the direction of the current flowing in the third conductive member, and is opposite from the direction of the current flowing in the first conductive member and the second conductive member.

Plasma display panel display device

A plasma display device capable of reducing an electromagnetic interference wave due to a driving current flowing in a plasma display panel is provided. The plasma display device includes a plasma display panel having electrodes that are parallel to each other, a driver circuit board for applying a voltage to the electrodes, a chassis conductor holding the plasma display panel and to which a ground of the driver circuit board is connected, and a first additional conductor plate provided to the chassis conductor via an insulating layer and to which grounds of at least one circuit board in circuit boards other than the driver circuit board are attached.

The present invention provides a shield structure for an electronic device allowing conductive members to be connected electrically to each other at low impedance while preventing the leakage of electromagnetic waves effectively. The first conductive member and the second conductive member for enclosing the electronic device respectively have laid portions that are laid one on the other and fastened to each other at plural positions by means of screw members. Through-holes into which the screw members are to be inserted are formed on both of the laid portions. Protruding portions, which protrude toward the laid portion of the second conductive member, each are formed between the adjacent through-holes on the laid portion of the first conductive member. The protruding portions each have a shape extending in the direction connecting the adjacent through-holes and bulging from both ends toward the center thereof in a smooth curve.

A plasma display device includes: a plasma display panel; a front glass; a conductive filter attached to a front surface or a back surface of the front glass; a back cover; and a plurality of glass pressing pieces each of which presses a corresponding one of four sides of the front glass and makes the conductive filter and the back cover be connected electrically. Among the plurality of glass pressing pieces, glass pressing pieces disposed on one pair of opposite sides of the front glass are electrically connected with the conductive filter at the front surface side thereof, and glass pressing pieces disposed on the other pair of opposite sides of the front glass are electrically connected with the conductive filter at the back surface side thereof.

A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus includes: a recorder for recording information signals so as to form tracks obliquely on a magnetic tape, and for recording pilot signals so that the frequency may differ between different modes such as SP and LP; a reproducing head for reproducing recorded information; an error detecting circuit for comparing the level difference of pilot signals recorded in both tracks adjacent to the track to be scanned by there producing head and for outputting a tracking error signal; and a controller for controlling the feed of the magnetic tape so that the tracking error signal may be balanced. Preferably, in the LP mode, a pilot signal of a higher frequency than that used in the SP mode is recorded. In a tracking error detector for a magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus for detecting the pilot signal, the reproduced signals are sampled at a frequency at a common multiple of each pilot frequency, a pilot signal is detected, and a tracking error signal is output.

A tracking error detecting circuit is used in a magnetic reproducing apparatus for reproducing an information signal from tracks which are formed on a magnetic tape obliquely in a longitudinal direction of the magnetic tape. The tracks have selectively recorded thereon a pilot signal multiplexed with the information signal. The tracking error detecting circuit comprises: a rotating magnetic head scanning the tracks for reproducing the information signal on which the pilot signal is selectively multiplexed to obtain a reproduced signal; a comparator for comparing a level of the reproduced signal with a specified level and for issuing a binary signal representing a comparison result; and a level detecting circuit for detecting a level of the pilot signal contained in the reproduced signal from an output of the comparator.

An editing apparatus is for use with a tape-form recording medium in which a tracking pilot signal and several synchronizing blocks each of which contains a synchronizing signal, a synchronizing signal number and a recording mode data are multiplex-recorded into a first recording area of each track which has a plurality of recording areas. Using the synchronizing signal and the synchronizing signal number, a pilot sampling signal for determining the timing of sampling the pilot signal and an editing timing signal for determining the recording location in a desired recording area following the first recording area are produced. Using the recording mode data, the discrimination of the current recording mode is carried out. After the tracking control is executed through sampling the tracking pilot signals from adjacent tracks at timing of the pilot sampling signal, a data signal is recorded into the desired recording area after the first recording area according to the editing timing signal.

The beginning portion of the track is constituted only of codewords having a disparity of each 10 bits which is +2, 0 or -2. Therefore, the frequency spectrum in the beginning part of the track has a peak at the frequency of pilot signal, and using this peak as the pilot signal, tracking is controlled during reproduction.

A tracking error detecting circuit in which tracking error detecting pilot signals having different frequencies are added to a main signal every track and recorded onto a magnetic recording medium, and upon reproduction, reproduction output levels of the pilot signals reproduced as crosstalks from both of adjacent tracks are compared, and a tracking error is detected. n signals having the same frequencies as those of the pilot signals and whose phases are different are generated and multiplied to the reproduction signal. Unnecessary components are eliminated by n LPFs (Lowpass filters). The amplitude values of the reproduced pilot signals are vector separated and detected. Further, the vector separated amplitude values are vector synthesized and detected. Therefore, by multiplying the signals having the same frequencies as those of the pilot signals, the synchronous detection is performed. The influence due to the undetected pilot phases is solved by detecting by performing the vector separation and synthesis. Therefore, the amplitude values can be certainly detected by the synchronous detection. The signal to noise ratio of the reproduction pilot signals can be determined by the LPFs (lowpass filters). Even in the case of a bad transmission signal to noise ratio of the reproduction pilot signals which could not be coped by the conventional construction, the amplitude values can be certainly detected.
