A light emitting device includes: a base member; a laser element disposed on or above a mounting surface of the base member; a fluorescent member including a first main surface and a second main surface respectively positioned on opposite sides of the fluorescent member, the second main surface being fixed to the mounting surface of the base member; a first optical member configured to change a traveling direction of laser light emitted by the laser element to be directed toward the first main surface of the fluorescent member; and a lid connected to the base member and enclosing the laser element, the fluorescent member, and the first optical member in a space beneath the lid, the lid being configured to transmit light from the fluorescent member.

Light emitting device

A display panel includes a bonded substrate which is bonded with a seal portion having an inlet portion, in which an inlet of a fluid is formed, a sealing material which seals the inlet, metal film patterns which are provided in an end portion of the bonded substrate, and external connection terminals which respectively have rectangular base portions and are provided in parallel in a transverse direction of the base portion. Each metal film pattern has a rectangular pattern base portion. The metal film patterns are provided in parallel such that the center position of the pattern base portion in the transverse direction is aligned with the center position of the base portion in the transverse direction. The width of the pattern base portion in the transverse direction is equal to or smaller than the width of the base portion in the transverse direction at the same arrangement position.

Display device

A technique for a display device using a display panel with Lambert light distribution, such as a plasma display panel, which displays a bright image with less contrast deterioration. This device has a front sheet which is integrally or separately located in front of the display panel. The front sheet includes light guides which extend in the horizontal direction and have a virtually convex cross section in the vertical direction with their apexes on the light exit side. A light reflection layer and a light-absorbing layer are sequentially stacked on the lateral sides of the light guides.

Front sheet and display device using the same

It is an object to prevent deterioration of reflectance of a reflection layer composed of silver or a silver alloy, resulting from heat-caused migration of silver. The reflector for projection type display apparatuses which display image light beams emitted and reflected by a light source, modulated for light intensity by a display device and magnified by a projection lens, wherein the reflector is provided, on the reflection surface side, with a reflection layer composed at least of silver or a silver alloy, and a layer comprising inorganic particles and a binder composed of a silicon compound; and a light source and image display device which use the reflector.

Reflector and projection type display apparatus

The light diffusion component in accordance with the present invention includes light transmission pieces that are juxtaposed at predetermined intervals in one direction and have a substantially trapezoidal section, and a light absorption piece that is juxtaposed alternately to the light transmission pieces and has a substantially wedged section. The upper base of the substantially trapezoidal section of each light transmission piece adjoins the base of the substantially wedged section of the light absorption piece. The area of the substantially wedged section of the light absorption piece is equal to or larger than one-third of the area of a trapezoid bordering the substantially wedged section, and equal to or smaller than two-thirds thereof.

Image display device and light diffusion component for use therein

A projection type video display apparatus having improved color separating ability is provided. The projection type video display apparatus includes a color separating unit including an entrance plate provided with an aperture through which light beams emitted by a light source travel, an optical integrator, and a plurality of dichroic mirrors disposed with their color separating surfaces extended substantially parallel to the exit surface of the optical integrator and capable of transmitting color light beams of wavelengths in a predetermined wavelength range and of reflecting color light beams of wavelengths outside the predetermined wavelength range.

Color separating unit and projection type video display apparatus provided with the same

The present invention is directed to the provision of a reflecting mirror that suppresses decreases in the resolution performance and contrast performance by decreasing the mean surface roughness. In a projection type image display apparatus including a projector lens that expansion projects the image light from an image generating source and a reflecting mirror that guides the image light from the projector lens to the back face of the screen, according to the present invention, a silver reflecting surface () is formed on the substrate () of the reflecting mirror, a protective layer () of a transparent resin is formed thereon, and the mean surface roughness of the silver reflecting layer is made to be 1.8 nm or less.

Reflecting mirror and projection image display apparatus using the same

In the present invention, there is disclosed a reflective mirror whose contrast or resolution performance is equal to that of a surface mirror of a glass mirror for general use and which does not have any problem in reliability of resistance to environment and whose color shift or brightness performance is inhibited from being degraded. For this, in the present invention, a reflective film is formed on a glass substrate by use of silver mirror reaction, and a topcoat is formed of a colorless/transparent resin. At this time, a wavelength of a crest of a ripple indicated by a reflectance characteristic is constituted to substantially agree with that of a green luminescent line. Accordingly, a back projection type video display device which is satisfactory in the contrast or resolution performance can be prepared.
