A furnace for producing a secondary battery cathode material according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention includes; a chamber of which the internal space is heated by a heater, a conveyer installed in the chamber and conveying a sagger containing raw material power of a cathode material of a secondary battery in one direction; and a gas supply nozzle and an exhaust port installed in the chamber. The chamber is divided into a front chamber, an intermediate chamber, and a rear chamber. The intermediate chamber has an inlet shutter and an outlet shutter for sealing the internal space thereof, and an exhaust port of the intermediate chamber is connected to an exhaust device for discharging gas.

Furnace for producing secondary battery cathode material and method for firing secondary battery cathode material

An apparatus for calcining a secondary battery cathode material includes: a calcination furnace including an inner space that includes a temperature rising space, a temperature maintaining space, and a cooling space, which sequentially communicate; a plurality of rollers for transferring a sagger, in which a cathode material is accommodated, from the temperature rising space to the cooling space via the temperature maintaining space; a plurality of heaters arranged along the inner space; a plurality of gas feeding parts for feeding gas to the inner space; and a plurality of exhaust parts for exhausting gas from the inner space, wherein the cross-sectional area of the temperature maintaining space is smaller than the cross-sectional area of the temperature rising space and the cross-sectional area of the cooling space.

Apparatus for calcining secondary battery cathode material

A sodium secondary battery module, according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention, may comprise: unit stacks in which a plurality of unit cells are laminated, the plurality of unit cells each having an upper cap and a lower cap which seal up a plate-shaped solid electrolyte and a positive electrode component and a negative electrode component which are plate-shaped and respectively disposed on two sides of the solid electrolyte; separators which are interposed between the unit stacks while the plurality of unit stacks are arranged in columns and rows, so as to separate spaces between the unit stacks; and a case for accommodating the plurality of unit stacks and the separators.

A sagger for firing an object to be fired includes an active material for a secondary battery. Carbon dioxide that is a reaction by-product produced during a positive electrode active material firing process can be smoothly discharged from the sagger, and such a smooth discharge of carbon dioxide can lower a residual lithium concentration of a positive electrode active material and thus can improve dispersibility of a positive electrode active material slurry and also improve capacity of a battery.
