A holographic camera system includes an imaging lens, a polarizer configured to circularly polarize light incident from the imaging lens, a geometric phase lens with a phase delay of λ/4, and an image sensor configured to replicate an interference pattern through self-interference of light output from the geometric phase.

The present disclosure relates to a hologram recording system that has an optical structure capable of replacing a polarization image sensor, thereby acquiring high-resolution holograms in real time by utilizing a high-resolution general image sensor. The hologram recording system for acquiring an interference pattern formed by self-interference of incident light from a target object is disclosed. The hologram recording system comprises a polarizer array including a plurality of polarizers, an image sensor including a plurality of pixels and an imaging optics disposed between the polarizer array and the image sensor. The imaging optics optically corresponds each of the plurality of polarizers to each of the plurality of pixels.

Disclosed herein an apparatus and method for estimating a phase retarder and method of manufacturing the phase retarder using the same. The apparatus includes: a polarization element configured to output an incident light as a linear polarization and to make the linear polarization incident onto a phase retarder to be tested; a polarization image acquisition module equipped with a plurality of polarized pixels receiving an emitting light that is output from the phase retarder, on which the linear polarization is incident, and configured to obtain a polarization image based on the emitting light that is modulated in the polarized pixels; and a processor configured to evaluate quality of the phase retarder based on uniformity of a brightness value between polarized pixels of the polarization image. The polarized pixels modulate the emitting light based on a plurality of transmission angles and detects the modulated emitting light.

Disclosed herein a module controlling viewing window, a device for hologram display and a method for displaying hologram. The module controlling viewing window includes: a viewing window forming unit having a first reflective optical system that receives an incident light and forms a viewing window in a user's viewing region; and a viewing angle expanding unit having a second reflective optical system that is arranged in one direction on the viewing window forming unit and expands a viewing angle of the viewing window.
