Geofence crossing-based control systems and techniques are described herein. For example, a geofence crossing control technique may include receiving a location signal indicative of a range of locations in which a mobile computing device is located; receiving a velocity signal indicative of a speed and direction of the mobile computing device; generating, for each of a plurality of candidate geofence crossing times, a performance indicator based on the location signal, the velocity signal, and a boundary of the geofence; selecting a geofence crossing time from the plurality of candidate geofence crossing times based on the performance indicators; and transmitting a control signal representative of the geofence crossing time. Systems and techniques for geofence crossing-based control

Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture to track movement of sports implements are disclosed herein. An example sensing unit disclosed herein is to be coupled to a sports implement. The sensing unit includes an inertial measurement unit to obtain movement data of said sports implement during a swing of said sports implement and a swing analyzer to determine a follow-through pattern of the swing of said sports implement based on the movement data.

Apparatus and methods to track movement of sports implements

A classification system is described which may include neural network decomposition logic ('NND'), which may perform classification using a neural network ('NN'). The NND may decompose a classification decision into multiple sub-decision spaces. The NND may perform classification using an NN that has fewer neurons than the NND utilizes for classification and/or which accepts feature vectors of a smaller size than are input into the NND. The NND may maintain multiple contexts for sub-decision spaces, and may switch between these in order to perform classification using the sub-decision spaces. The NND may combine results from the sub-decision spaces to decide a classification. By diving the decision into sub-decision spaces, the NND may provide for classification decisions using NNs that might otherwise be unsuitable for a particular classification decisions. Other embodiments may be described and/or claimed.

Neural network classification through decomposition

Technologies for determining a user's location by a mobile computing device include detecting, based on sensed inertial characteristics of the mobile computing device, that a user of the mobile computing device has taken a physical step in a direction. The mobile computing device determines a directional heading of the mobile computing device in the direction and a variation of an orientation of the mobile computing device relative to a previous orientation of the mobile computing device at a previous physical step of the user based on the sensed inertial characteristics. The mobile computing device further applies a Kalman filter to determine a heading of the user based on the determined directional heading of the mobile computing device and the variation of the orientation and determines an estimated location of the user based on the user's determined heading, an estimated step length of the user, and a previous location of the user at the previous physical step.

An electronic device may be provided that includes a first processor and a second processor, the first processor to wirelessly receive a data packet from another device, and to determine a property (or type) of the received data packet. When the property or type of the received data packet is a first property or first type then the first processor to process the data packet. On the other hand, when the property or type of the received data packet is a second property or second type then the second processor to process the data packet.

Methods, apparatus, systems, and articles of manufacture to track movement of sports implements are disclosed herein. An example sensing unit disclosed herein is to be coupled to a sports implement. The sensing unit includes an inertial measurement unit to obtain movement data of said sports implement during a swing of said sports implement and a swing analyzer to determine whether the swing is a horizontal shot or a vertical shot based on the movement data.

Technologies for location privacy management include a mobile computing device to determine whether an application is authorized to obtain the location of the mobile computing device based on a determined location and location access policy of the mobile computing device. The location access policy includes policy rules that identify whether the application is authorized to obtain the location of the mobile computing device. If the mobile computing device determines that the application is not authorized to obtain the location of the mobile computing device, the mobile computing device blocks the application from obtaining the location.

Area-based location privacy management

A method and system for context sensing is described herein. The method includes determining if sensor data obtained via a number of sensors exceed a predetermined threshold. The method also includes increasing a sampling rate of any of the sensors to obtain context data corresponding to a computing device if the sensor data exceed the threshold. The method further includes analyzing the context data to classify a context of the computing device.

Techniques for predicting a future location of a mobile device are included herein in which a previous location of the mobile device can be detected. Additionally, a current location of the mobile device can be detected. Furthermore, the future location of the mobile device can be predicted based at least in part on the previous location of the mobile device, the current location of the mobile device, and a location history.
