A touch panel includes a first electrode substrate including a first substrate and a first conductive film formed on the first substrate, and a second electrode substrate including a second substrate and a second conductive film formed on the second substrate to face the first conductive film. A part or the entirety of the first conductive film is divided into plural conductive areas.

Disclosed is a touch panel including a first electrode substrate including a first conductive layer; and a second electrode substrate including a second conductive layer and being stacked with the first electrode substrate such that the first conductive layer and the second conductive layer face each other. The first conductive layer is composed of a first line of conductive areas and a second line of conductive areas adjacent to the first line where each of the first and the second lines includes an odd number greater than or equal to three of the conductive areas aligned in a second direction, and the conductive areas positioned in the middle of the first line and the second line are respectively connected with extracting areas extending toward different edges in the second direction.

A touch panel includes: a first conductive film divided into regions insulated from each other; a second conductive film facing and located away from the first conductive film; a pair of electrodes provided to the second conductive film, the electrodes facing each other; another pair of electrodes provided to the second conductive film, the electrodes facing each other; and a control unit configured to determine whether the first conductive film contacts with the second conductive film in each region, detect one of an X-coordinate and a Y-coordinate of a point where the first conductive film contacts with the second conductive film by applying a voltage to the pair of electrodes in a case where the first conductive film contacts with the second conductive film, discharge the voltage applied to the pair of electrodes after detecting one of the X-coordinate and the Y-coordinate in each region, and detects the other of the X-coordinate and the Y-coordinate in each region by applying a voltage to the another pair of electrodes after discharging the voltage applied to the pair of electrodes.

A flexible printed circuit includes a first flexible film; a first interconnection layer on the first flexible film, wherein the first interconnection layer includes a first end portion to be connected to a first electrode of a touchscreen, and a second end portion; a second flexible film; a second interconnection layer on the second flexible film, wherein the second interconnection layer includes a first end portion to be connected to a second electrode of the touchscreen, and a second portion; an adhesive layer that bonds the first flexible film and the second flexible film; a first cover film on the first interconnection layer with the first and second end portions of the first interconnection layer being exposed; and a second cover film on the second interconnection layer with the first and second end portions of the second interconnection layer being exposed.

Flexible printed circuit and touchscreen

Improves the connection between a touch panel and an external harness. A first electrode cable () and a third electrode cable () are disposed on a first ITO film () on a glass substrate () of a touch panel, and a second electrode cable () and a fourth electrode cable () are disposed on a second ITO film () on a flexible resin (). First to fourth guide conductors (to) are disposed in parallel on a first insulation layer () that is provided near a first side () of the glass substrate. The first to fourth electrode cables are connected to the first to fourth guide conductors, via first to fourth connection conductors (to). A second insulation layer () is laminated on them. On a connection section () of an external harness (), first to fourth external conductors (to) have their coating removed at the touch panel side, and are superimposed with the plurality of guide conductors of the touch panel so that they cross each other. First to fourth holes (to) are provided in advance on the second insulation layer at positions where the external conductors cross the guide conductors respectively. The external harness and the touch panel are pressed together while being heated, and are connected together.
