A printed circuit board and multiple components, which are mounted on both sides of the printed circuit board, form a circuit to drive a motor. The printed circuit board is opposed to a case at a one side. First thermal conductive portion is interposed between a heat generating component of the components and the case. Second thermal conductive portion is interposed between the circuit board and the case. The first and second thermal conductive portions are formed of the same flexible material, are equipped to the same side of the circuit board, are in contact with both the circuit board and the case, and are located at different positions.

Motor device

A base of a case has an inner groove portion, which surrounds a circuit board, and an outer groove portion. A first projected portion of a connector is inserted in the inner groove portion via a first seal portion. A second projected portion of the connector is inserted in the outer groove portion via a second seal portion. The first seal portion and the second seal portion are formed of the same material and are interposed between a periphery of an opening of the case and the connector. The first seal portion in the inner groove portion is in contact with the first projected portion of the connector to water tightly seal an accommodation space formed in the case. The second seal portion in the outer groove portion is in contact with the second projected portion of the connector to restrict vibration of the connector.

A case includes a base and a cover and defines an accommodation space therein. The base has a first through hole through which a magnetoelectric conversion element, which is mounted on a circuit board, is opposed to a sensor magnet of a motor. A connector includes a terminal and a housing, which supports the terminal. The connector has a first protrusion projected toward the base for positioning. The first protrusion of the connector has a tip end inserted through a second through hole of the printed circuit board and further inserted in a hole portion of the base. A second protrusion of the base is projected toward the printed circuit board and is inserted in a third through hole of the printed circuit board for positioning.

A base includes first to third projected portions. A sealing surface of the base is opposed to the housing and equipped with a sealing member. An attachment portion outside the sealing surface is screwed with the housing. A first projected portion projects from the attachment portion toward the housing. The second and third projected portions project relative to the sealing surface toward the housing. A recessed portion between the sealing surface and the first projected portion partially receives and fitted with a spigot protrusion of the housing. The second projected portion is located inside the third projected portion, and the third projected portion is located inside the recessed portion in the radial direction. The second and third projected portions extend along the circumferential direction. The first to third projected portions have projected tip end surfaces located in a same plane and in contact with the housing.

An accommodation space formation member forms an accommodation space and a communication hole. The accommodation space accommodates an electronic component. The communication hole communicates the accommodation space with an outside of the accommodation space formation member. A ventilation member is equipped to the communication hole or an opening of the communication hole on a side of the accommodation space. The ventilation member is configured to permit flow of vapor between the accommodation space and the outside and to restrict flow of liquid between the accommodation space and the outside. The accommodation space formation member has an outer wall having a first groove portion, which forms a first groove. The first groove communicates with an opening of the communication hole on the outside.

A voltage control device for vehicle alternator has an IC chip as an electric component for controlling electric circuits, terminals connected electrically to the IC chip for controlling electric circuits, a resin case in which the terminals are formed by insert molding, and a terminal exposure portion of a hole shape, formed in a part of the resin case, corresponding to a positioning pin for positioning the terminals. A projection part as a positioning member of a wall shape is formed in the surroundings of the terminal exposure portion and on the surface of the resin case.

Positioning member and voltage control device for vehicle alternator having the positioning member

A control apparatus for a vehicle generator includes a switch, a regulator, a fault condition detector, and a PWM signal generator. The switch is selectively turned on and off so as to intermittently excite the generator. The regulator controls on/off operation of the switch so as to bring an output of the generator into agreement with a target value. The fault condition detector detects a fault condition of the generator. The PWM signal generator generates and outputs a PWM signal that has a duty determined as a function of a duty of the on/off operation of the switch and a frequency determined based on if the fault condition of the generator is detected by the fault condition detector. Consequently, the control apparatus can inform an external control apparatus of the duty of the on/off operation of the switch and the fault condition of the generator with the single PWM signal.

Control apparatus for automotive alternator having capability to accurately detect temperature of alternator

The vehicle power-generation control unit includes a voltage detecting circuit detecting a generation voltage of a vehicle generator driven by a vehicle engine, a switching device allowing an exciting current to flow into an exciting winding of the vehicle generator when the switching device is in an on state, an average duty ratio detecting circuit detecting a temporal average duty ratio of the switching device on the basis of the generation voltage, an enhanced duty-cycle signal generating circuit generating an enhanced duty-cycle signal having a duty ratio equal to the temporal average duty ratio added with a supplementary duty ratio determined depending on at least one of vehicle state information and vehicle generator state information, and a driver circuit driving the switching device with the duty ratio of the enhanced duty-cycle signal when the generation voltage detected by the voltage detecting circuit is lower than a predetermined target voltage.

Vehicle power-generation control unit

A voltage regulator is comprised of a semiconductor element for controlling current supplied to a field coil, a flywheel element, a generation voltage regulation circuit for controlling the semiconductor element, and a switching capacity control circuit for controlling a current-switching capacity during a former stage of a turn-off transition period of the semiconductor element to be larger than that during the latter stage of the turn-off transition period. Accordingly, the current change rate can be reduced, so that surge voltage and electro-magnetic wave can be reduced.
