The photosensitive layer contains a binder resin, a charge generation material, a hole transport material, a fluorine-atom-containing electron transport material, and fluorine-atom-containing resin particles. An amount of the charge generation material in the photosensitive layer is 0.5% by weight or more and less than 2.0% by weight. The charge generation material has a distribution that satisfies Formula (1): 30&#x2266;a/b in a thickness direction of the photosensitive layer where a and b are as defined in the specification, and b may be 0. The fluorine-atom-containing electron transport material has a distribution that satisfies Formula (2): 30&#x2266;c/d in the thickness direction of the photosensitive layer where c and d are as defined in the specification, and d may be 0.

An aspect of the present invention provides a method of manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor. The method includes forming at least one layer selected from the group consisting of an undercoat layer, a photosensitive layer, and a protective layer, by jetting by an inkjet method a first coating liquid and a second coating liquid from liquid drop discharging heads which are different from each other, and mixing the first coating liquid and the second coating liquid on a conductive substrate. The first coating liquid and the second coating liquid react with each other when they are mixed.

Method of manufacturing electrophotographic photoreceptor, electrophotographic photoreceptor, image-forming apparatus, and process cartridge

The electrophotographic photoreceptor of the present invention includes a cylindrical support; a charge-generating layer and a charge-transporting layer that are layered onto the cylindrical support in this sequence from the cylindrical support side. The charge-transporting layer includes a charge transport material, and resins including a curable resin and a thermoplastic resin. The proportion of the content of the curable resin with respect to the total amount of the resins in the charge-transporting layer increases in the layer thickness direction with distance from the charge-generating layer side.

Electrophotographic photoreceptor, method of producing the same, process cartridge, and image-forming apparatus

The electrophotographic photoreceptor of the present invention includes a cylindrical support, a photosensitive layer and an outermost surface layer that are layered onto the cylindrical support in this sequence from the cylindrical support side. The outermost surface layer includes a charge transport material and a curable resin. The proportion of the content of the curable resin in the outermost surface layer increases in the layer thickness direction with distance from the photosensitive layer side. The process cartridge and electrophotographic apparatus of the present invention are provided with the electrophotographic photoreceptor.

The invention provides an electrophotographic photoreceptor having a cylindrical support, and a charge-generating layer and a charge-transporting layer on or above the cylindrical support, wherein the thickness of the charge-generating layer is increased from the central portion in the axial direction of the cylindrical support towards both end portions thereof, and the difference in thickness between the two end portions is 2.5% or less of an average thickness of the charge-generating layer. The invention provides an electrophotographic photoreceptor that includes a cylindrical support, and a charge-generating layer and a charge-transporting layer on the cylindrical support, wherein a content per unit volume of a charge-generating material in the charge-generating layer increases from a center portion in an axial direction of the cylindrical support towards both end portions thereof, and a thickness of the charge-generating layer in an axial direction of the cylindrical support is 95% or more and 105% or less relative to an average thickness of the charge-generating layer.

A coating apparatus comprises a coating vessel holding a coating liquid with a liquid leakage preventing member having an opening. A cylindrical member such as a cylindrical support for supporting a photosensitive member is inserted into the opening and the cylindrical member is moved relative to the coating liquid vessel in the vertical direction. A scraping member for scraping the coating liquid is at least partially immersed in the coating liquid, or is positioned above the surface of the coating liquid in the coating liquid vessel, the scraping member being almost concentric to the cylindrical member and movable in the radial direction of the cylindrical member. The cylindrical member is axially aligned with the scraping member using coating liquid pressure applied to the scraping member to coincide the center of the scraping member with the center of the cylindrical member. This invention provides an apparatus and method for forming a coated layer having a uniform layer thickness free of unevenness on the outer periphery of a cylindrical member such as an electrophotographic photosensitive support at a high production rate inexpensively.
