A region of a hole-inner circumferential surface composing a portion defining a terminal through-hole, the region being located on the battery case cover side, include a tapered surface gradually enlarged in diameter as extending toward the battery case cover side and opening toward the battery case cover side; when riveting is carried out, a region of a shaft portion, the region being located inward of the tapered surface, is enlarged in diameter so as to form an annular projecting portion in contact with the tapered surface; and a hole circumferential portion located around the portion defining the terminal through-hole is held between the external enlarged-diameter portion and the annular projecting portion so as to fix a first terminal member to a second terminal member.

Hermetically sealed battery and manufacturing method for hermetically sealed battery

A portion of an insulation member makes contact with a surface of a lid body by receiving a caulking force from a caulking member either directly or indirectly via another member. When not receiving the caulking force, a surface of the portion of the insulation member facing the lid body becomes a curved surface which indicates a curve bulging in a load direction of a caulking load on a cut plane, the cut plane cutting the portion of the insulation member in a longitudinal direction of the lid body. When kept in the fastened state by receiving the caulking force, the portion of the insulation member is elastically deformed and the surface of the portion of the insulation member facing the lid body is brought into close contact with the surface of the lid body.

A method for manufacturing a bottomed cuboid battery container includes: forming a first member by folding one piece of a first flat sheet, the first member being constructed of a quadrilateral bottom surface and first paired side surfaces, the first paired side surfaces continuing from the bottom surface and being oppose each other; and forming the bottomed cuboid battery container by welding each of a second flat sheet and a third flat sheet to the first member such that the second flat sheet and the third flat sheet oppose each other and constitute second paired side surfaces. The second flat sheet and the first member are welded from one direction. The third flat sheet and the first member are welded from one direction.

Method for manufacturing bottomed cuboid battery container

A battery is provided with a lid member that closes a case, a collector terminal member having an insert-through part, an insulator that electrically insulates the lid member and the collector terminal member, and a gasket that provides a seal between the lid member and the collector terminal member. The lid member has a protrusion protruding downward in the vertical direction from the bottom. A gasket is in the same position as the protruding section in an inside-outside direction, which is perpendicular to the vertical direction, and has a sealing part pressed by the protruding section. At least one gap exists in the vicinity of the seal section in a different position to the seal section in the inside-outside direction, and at least portions of the gaps are enclosed by the gasket and the collector terminal member.

Battery

A battery includes: an insulating plate; a connecting terminal plate; a terminal bolt that passes through the connecting terminal plate, the bolt head being between the insulating plate and the connecting terminal plate, and having a regular N-sided polygon shape, the N being an even number; and a nut. The insulating plate includes a first rotation stopping wall near an end of the insulating plate; the first rotation stopping wall includes a first a first abutting location that abuts the bolt head being rotated in a tightening direction of the nut, and a second abutting location that abuts the bolt head being rotated in a loosening direction of the nut; and a distance from the first abutting location to the first end is greater than a distance from the second abutting location to the first end.

A battery provided according to the invention includes an electrode body including a positive electrode and a negative electrode, and a battery case. A positive electrode inner terminal is connected to the positive electrode, and a negative electrode inner terminal is connected to the negative electrode. The battery includes, inside the battery case, a first film placed between the electrode body and an inner wall of the battery case, and a second film placed between the battery case and at least one of the negative electrode inner terminal and the positive electrode inner terminal. By the first film and the second film, at least one of the negative electrode inner terminal and the positive electrode inner terminal is insulated from the inner wall of the battery case, and the electrode body is insulated from the inner wall of the battery case.

A battery includes: a battery case having a case body member and a case lid member having a through hole; a rivet that engages with the through hole; and a gasket. The through hole is hermetically sealed with the gasket interposed between the circumferential outer surface of the case lid member and an outer flange of the rivet. Sealed battery

A sealed battery includes a filling hole, and a gasket and a blind rivet that seal the filling hole. A tapered surface that is inclined toward an inside of a battery case is formed around the filling hole of the battery case. The filling hole is sealed by the gasket and the blind rivet by the blind rivet plastic deforming.

Provided is a technique for suppressing welding faults caused in sealing a case of a sealed battery by laser welding. A step for manufacturing a sealed battery having a case sealed by a sealing plug and a sealing plate, which includes a sealing step for fitting the sealing plug into a pouring hole formed in a recess of a lid portion and inserting the sealing plate into the recess, and a welding step for joining the sealing plate to the recess by laser welding. In the sealing step, a heat-insulating member is provided in a minute space defined by the recess, the sealing plug and the sealing plate so as to block at least a part of the boundary portion between the sealing plate and the recess. In the welding step, welding is completed at a position where the heat-insulating member is present in the boundary portion.

Sealed battery and method for manufacturing the same

A hermetically sealed battery is provided with a sealing member for air-tightly sealing the through-hole of a battery case from the outside. The sealing member has: a covering member secured to the battery case from the outside; an insertion portion inserted into the through-hole; an annular pressure contact portion in air-tight pressure contact with the hole surrounding portion of the battery case; and a connecting portion disposed between the insertion portion and the annular pressure contact portion so as to be integral with the insertion portion and the annular pressure contact portion. The connecting portion is provided with an annular groove surrounding the insertion portion.

Hermetically sealed battery

A battery sealing member: has a power generating element, a case body member, a case lid member, and an electrode terminal member having an insert-through part inserted in a through-hole provided in the case lid member. The electrode terminal member is electrically connected to the power generating element. The battery sealing member is made of a synthetic resin and has a sealing part held between the electrode terminal member and the inner surface of the case lid member. The crystallinity of the sealing part of the sealing member is higher than the crystallinity of a portion other than the seal section.

A battery includes a winding electrode body, a battery case provided with a liquid inlet and positive and negative terminal members. The positive terminal member has a junction part compressed in a direction orthogonal to a winding axis direction. The negative terminal member has a junction part compressed in the direction orthogonal to the winding axis direction. The liquid inlet is positioned leaning to either the positive terminal junction part or the negative terminal junction part. In the winding electrode body, a separation distance from the junction part further away from the liquid inlet to the end lying on the relevant junction side in the winding axis direction is greater than a separation distance from the junction part closer to the liquid inlet to the end on the relevant junction side in the winding axis direction.

Battery comprising a liquid inlet for electrolyte injection

A current collector electrically connected to a first electrode plate or a second electrode plate includes a tubular current collection section. An external terminal electrically connected to the current collector includes a tubular terminal section into which the current collection section is inserted. The current collection section has, before being inserted into the terminal section, a greater outer diameter than the inner diameter of the terminal section. In the insertion process, the diameter of the current collection section is reduced or the diameter of the terminal section is expanded so that the outer diameter of the current collection section is equal to or smaller than the inner diameter of the terminal section, and then the current collection section is inserted into the terminal section. After that, the outer peripheral surface of the current collection section and the inner peripheral surface of the terminal section are made to be in close contact with each other by the restoring force of the current collection section having the reduced diameter or of the terminal section having the expanded diameter, and as a result, the current collection section is fixed to the terminal section.

Method for manufacturing battery

Provided are a laminated electrode-type battery having high joint strength and mechanical strength around a connecting portion between a positive-electrode current collector and a positive-electrode core member and around a connecting portion between a negative-electrode current collector and a negative-electrode core member, a manufacturing method therefor, a vehicle, and a device. The leading end of a positive-electrode core member and a positive-electrode current collector are joined by a connecting material. The melting point of the connecting material for positive-electrode is lower than that of the positive-electrode core member. Meanwhile, the leading end of a negative-electrode core member and a negative-electrode current collector are joined by a connecting material. The melting point of the connecting material for negative-electrode is lower than that of the negative-electrode core member.
